PC unable to boot past BIOS

yowarin

hii im kinda losing my mind, my PC suddenly crashed the other day and ever since, when i try to boot, it starts freezing during the BIOS splash screen. I can access BIOS menu, but its impossible for me to boot into windows from any drive.

Ive tried replacing my M.2 SSD thinking it was faulty because it failed the namespace test i was able to perform through the BIOS menu, but i cant even access the windows installation from a USB stick in order to install it on my new SSD.

Ive tried booting with just CPU & one RAM stick in, but my motherboard doesnt have onboard graphics. so i added my GPU, tried it in both primary & secondary slots, no difference, BIOS freezes.

None of the motherboard LEDs light up on boot besides the regular check up blinks n the boot one after that. so nothing out of ordinary. It mostly freezes when the motherboard depicts the AA code, but to my knowledge thats just a normal process.

I cant test any of my parts in a separate PC, this build has been running fine for years besides occasional hiccups i had to fix, mostly software related tho.

I dont know what else to do and dont know what part is faulty in order to replace it. any help is appreciated 🙂

Hello @yowarin

Thank you for reaching out to us.
Could you please clarify if this issue occurred after using it for some time and occurred following any recent changes, such as a BIOS update or component replacement?
When you install only the CPU and a single RAM module in the DIMM_A2 slot and encounter BIOS freezing, does this mean the system is unable to POST and enter the BIOS? At this time, are there any solid Q-LED indicators or Q-Codes displayed?

According to [Motherboard] Common Q-CODE (Error CODE) and Troubleshooting, a Q-Code of "AA" indicates a boot device issue.
We recommend checking for bent CPU pins, clearing CMOS, and referring to the ROG Strix X570-E Gaming user manual to ensure all hardware is correctly installed. If possible, please cross-test with another CPU or other compatible hardware components.
If the issue persists, we recommend contacting your reseller or ASUS local service to arrange a repair for further diagnostics.

Thank you.
