ASUS ROG maximum Xi i7-8700k MSI 1080 2X8 16gb vengeance rgb

pc used to boot into windows but not bios, but after putting the boot drive in another system to have it reformatted. It stopped booting altogether

Motherboard is stuck on a2 error, with white and yellow lights. It would cycle through errors like d6, b4 and such. No bios no windows after reformating.

I have tried removing gpu, reseating ram, and changing ports from gpu to motherboard.

Hello, @yunnun

Could you please confirm if your model is the ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO, ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO (WI-FI), or ROG MAXIMUS XI EXTREME?
Did the unable to boot problem occur after any recent changes were made?
For instance, a BIOS update or connecting an external device?

Regarding the Q-LED indicators, a yellow light typically indicates a DRAM issue, while a white light suggests a VGA problem.
We recommend referring to the corresponding troubleshooting steps in [Motherboard] ASUS motherboard troubleshooting via Q-LED indicators.
As for the Q-CODE, please consult [Motherboard] Common Q-CODE(Error CODE) and Troubleshooting or the last section of the motherboard's user manual for a list of codes.
Based on your description, we would advise checking the connections of the GPU and memory modules.
Meanwhile, here are some related FAQs you may find helpful.
