Hi,
So ive put together a new pc.
7800x3d
Thermaltake la240
Asus rog strix b650e-f bios version 3287
Kingston fury 32gb ddr5 6000mhz cl36
WD 2tb m.2 nvme 4.0 ssd
Asus rtx 4070
Corsair rm850x
Thermaltake the tower 600
Windows 11
Asus vg27ag
Ever since I started it up, I've have issues with it booting. First boot was great. I enabled the expo profile on the ram sticks and then restarted with the intention of installing windows 11. When I rebooted the machine, I got a long beep and 3 short beeps indicating vga issues and also the yellow light and white light. I eventually got it working after taking cmos out and resetting the bios.
Since then its been intermittent, kind of random and now, today, its every time I boot. It does the 1 beep and 3 quick beeps followed by practically just the white light now then reboots, skips the bios entry screen and all that and jumps straight into the windows pin screen. I need to get on the bios to turn secure boot on for a game.
Ive tried resetting the gpu but no change. I also tried the slot on the motherboard instead io instead of the gpu with no luck . Im stumped. Also the white light on the motherboard stays on constantly. I dont know if this is normal to be honest?
Any suggestions anyone?

HI @Wardy940
That beep code indicates a GPU detection fault, so I would firstly suggest you try an alternative if possible, or get the GPU tested independently

Hi there,
Ive tested the gpu on my old system. It seems fine. I dont have this issue when im using a hdmi cable, either to my monitor or my TV. But I do when I use displayport, regardless of wether its connected to the GPU or the cpus iGPU.
I dont have a monitor I can try to rule it out, but could it be a faulty display port on my monitor causing this issue?
Everything is absolutely fine with hdmi, the white light disappeared from the motherboard and no error code beeps.
Its not particularly even an inconvenience apart from the fact that I cant access the bios menu. I also dont know if it could be causing damage to the board.

Hello Wardy940
Maybe you have to set the connection type (or Input) to Displayport on your monitor and TV?

I never change it from display port on the monitor. Yesterday was literally the first time ive used the hdmi port on it. Someone has mentioned that it could be my memory timings and that the 7800x3d doesnt like ram running at 6000m/t? I thought this was the sweet spot for this cpu. The troubles did start once i enabled expo but im also sure I had this issue when I reset the cmos battery.

Are you using the latest Nvidia driver 581.80?
GeForce Game Ready Driver 581.80 | Windows 11 | NVIDIA

Yeah all drivers should be the latest as its a new system. I did double check the GPU driver as well, just to make sure. Its running 581.80

Thank you
Sorry for a late reply.
So, it seems the issue started after enabling Expo. Resetting the bios to defaults got it working but you're still getting beeps, reboots, and doesn't give you the option to enter the bios.
You could try restarting your pc, keep tapping the Del key until the bios screen shows.
If that doesn't help and everything was fine before enabling Expo, I might try reflashing bios 3287 or updating to 3602. You can use the Bios Flashback feature to reflash or update the bios.
Just be aware, in the Note it says bios 3602 cannot be rolled back to previous versions.

No problem.
Yeah first ever boot went fine. I also got it back working again when resetting bios settings with cmos battery but I have since enabled expo again. I could just run it standard but then it seems pointless to have spent the money on faster ram and I suppose I feel like it should just work.
I hadnt noticed there had been a new bios update. I may just update to that and see if it fixes the issue. Can I use the flashback button on the io with the usb plugged into the proper bios slot or will I need to go into the bios and do it from there? I know while I was waiting for my ram, I used that method to install the bios without having to run the system.
Thanks for the help.

Also, on tapping the delete key. It doesnt seem to work. Its like the first boot fails. And then it does like a soft reboot and just completely skips the asus logo and opportunity for bios and goes straight to the win 11 pin screen l.
