New PC stuck on reboot (STRIX x870-A, 9800x3d, G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo DDR5-6000 CL30 [2x32GB] RAM)

Hello,

I just completed my new PC build. (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9tk7sp). I had some issues in the beginning with getting a display from my GPU but that is all resolved now. The initial boot works fine (although multiple times now, the computer has booted right away when switching on the power supply, without pressing the power button on the case). The problem is when I do a restart from windows 11. My fans kick up like crazy and it seems to get hung up, with the DRAM LED showing orange and a black screen on my monitor. I think the issue may have started after rebooting after installing Lian Li L-connect, but I'm not sure. I've read online that some monitoring software can cause issues. Also, I'm not sure at the moment what bios version I'm on as I haven't updated it.

Does anyone have any ideas? Solutions? Similar issues?

Thanks.

Forgot to add that to solve this, I can just force a power down by holding the power button down, and do a normal boot which works fine.

Hi @jrh0067

1. Use the search function in the UEFI and look for Memory Context Restore. Enable it. This will retain the last known good memory training parameters.

2. Use the search function in the UEFI and look for Monitoring Software reboot Workaround. Enable it.

Be sure to test memory overclocking stability with the right tools

Hello,

Thank you for the reply and information, I will look for these options in bios. I wanted to mention I am on bios version 0606. Should I update to the newest version? I also want to enable EXPO, will I run into any issues if I enable these two settings you mentioned?

Thank you!

Hello @jrh0067

If you suspect that installing Lian Li L-Connect may have caused abnormalities, we recommend removing the device and checking whether the issue persists.
Regarding the BIOS, you can verify the version and related details on the BIOS main page. For further guidance, please refer to page 7 of the BIOS user manual. Additionally, we recommend keeping your system up to date by installing the latest BIOS version, as it includes functionality improvements and performance enhancements.

For information on enabling EXPO and related details, please refer to the Memory QVL and the "Memory Kits - Overclocking and What You May Not Know" thread. And if you have any questions related to overclocking, kindly start your discussion in the Overclocking & Tweaking section.

Thank you.
