New MB from Amazon, but warranty expired. Why?

Hello!  I just purchased a new ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero X570 ATX Motherboard via Amazon.  When I went to register it with Asus, I see "warranty expired".

I didn't buy a used board, this is a new board.

Can this please be explained?  Thanks!

Check the reputation of the seller, does the card appear new when unpacked according to appearance and smell (new ones have a slight peculiar smell).
Or ask Asus support if they have removed the warranty from outdated cards even if they are purchased new.

Well, that sure is disappointing.

I followed the "where to buy" link from Asus's page for this board thinking I'd be dealing with an Asus sale on Amazon.  That is confusing and now it's a big ole waste of my time since I spent the day yesterday installing it!

Ugh, I'm already dealing with a crappy Alienware system that Dell replaced with a refurb mboard, I'm not gonna work with a refurb on another system.  One is enough. Returning to Amazon.

(Edit:  Changed my mind, I'm gonna stick with this board and see how it goes.  After thinking about how it was packaged, its condition, and the price I paid, I went back to the invoice and saw "condition: new".  Xing my fingers!)

Thank you!

Hello, @guitrldy

Thank you for reaching out to us.
Based on your description, we suggest referring to the "How to upload the purchase invoice" section in the How to inquire Warranty Status guide to update your warranty.
If the issue persists, please provide the serial number of the motherboard to me via PM, or since you've recently made the purchase, we recommend reaching out to your retailer for assistance.

Thank you.
