New Asus Strix x870e Motherboard

I just bought my New Strix x870e motherboard coming from a Sabertooth 990FX motherboard . Looking at the manual that the PCIEX 16 {G5} , M.2 _2 and M.2_3  share lanes to the CPU Chip . I'm not going to use a GEN 5 CPU as of yet , I have a AMD 5 8600g GEN 4 and planning on getting a GEN 5 NVME 1tb  for my OS Drive  and wounder where would I need to place this drive ?? Should I place this OS drive in M.2 _1 or keep it next to the CPU Chip  on M.2_3 ??  I do plan on upgrading my CPU later in life to a AMD 9 GEN 5 and add a Dedicated Video Card .

Hello @bote110

Thank you for reaching out to us.
May I confirm if you are currently using the ROG STRIX X870E-E GAMING WIFI motherboard?

For details regarding the M.2 slot specifications, you can refer to the "Specifications Summary" section in the manual:

As you mentioned, the PCIEX16(G5) slot shares bandwidth with the M.2_2 and M.2_3 slots.

We recommend configuring your hardware installation based on your requirements, including whether you plan to install a GPU or utilize the PCIEX16(G5) lane.

Thank you.
