Hello all. First I will admit when it come to building a PC or upgrading or keeping up with it all I am a bit lost. I have a 2080ti and really only play in VR with a quest 3. I can get quite good performance with Ats and most games but feel like its time for an upgrade, would love to push the graphics as far as I can in VR.
Here is my current system
Windows 10
Intel i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHz
RAM 32.0 GB
RTX 2080ti
x2 ssd
System type 64-bit operating system
MB : ROG Maximus XI Extreme
My question is, if I buy an RTX 4090 will my mother board or CPU bottle neck it? I am not clued up on what goes with what, worried if i save up for a 4090 it will be pointless if my MB and processor are not good enough. Any advice much appreciated.
I can would love to crank up some of the settings for better visuals.
With thanks.
Andy.

Hello BootsUK
You can check the pc bottleneck calculator.
The i9-9900K will bottleneck an RTX 4090.
The higher the resolution you go, the less of a bottleneck there will be, but even at 4k (3840 x 2160), there is a 34.7% bottleneck.

I spoke to Scan UK. And they recommended a new PC and this one... Thoughts?

That would work great.
The 9800X3D is currently the best gaming cpu. In most games, the 9800X3D wins.
