Hello,
I'm the not-so-proud owner of a Corsair prebuilt Vengeance PC that came with an i9-13900KS cpu & ASUS Prime Z790-P mobo. Corsair uses proprietary BIOS in all their prebuilt PCs, meaning that any crucial updates (such as Intel's microcode) can only be obtained through them and not directly from the motherboard manufacturer. The problem Corsair never seems to provide BIOS updates, including ones containing critical, potentially system-saving firmware like Intel's recent microcode.
Is there anyway to perform a complete factory reset of my ASUS motherboard and cleanse it of Corsair's BIOS so it can revert to being an ASUS motherboard again rather than a bastardized Corsair one?
Thanks for any help

Hello @joecoze79
Regarding the proprietary BIOS and related updates you described, have you confirmed this with your PC retailer?
Have you also tried updating to the BIOS version available on the PRIME Z790-P official website using the EZ Flash 3 steps?
Please refer to [Motherboard/Desktop] ASUS EZ Flash 3 - Introduction and note that updating BIOS may have the risk of not booting up.
Kindly back up your data first before updating the BIOS.
Thank you.

Hello @joecoze79
After consulting with the relevant departments, it’s possible that, due to the prebuilt PC and proprietary BIOS, you may not be able to update to the version available on the official website.
Therefore, we still recommend seeking assistance from the prebuilt PC supplier or the original place of purchase.
Meanwhile, the ROG forum is specifically for discussions related to the ROG or TUF gaming series products.
If you have inquiries regarding non-gaming series motherboards, we recommend posting your discussion on Zentalk>Motherboard.
Thank you.
