Hello,
a friend of mine bought a new PC with an Asus Rog Strix B650E-F Gaming Wifi motherboard.
He's using an audio mixer (Behringer Xenyx 802) with Line In & Line Out at the back of the PC.
Unfortunately, since he got this new PC we discovered that he got a super weird Microphone boost for whatever reason. We've created a small audio where you can here the super weird boosting at the very end: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAHTlnaCy5E
In the very beginning, this is already with this boosted voice. After some seconds in the video, he's kinda quiet at the beginning but getting extremly high boosted for the amount of time while he is talking.
We've set up a new and fresh install of Windows 11, checked out every single Windows 11 options (no boosts activated, no changed made regarding other programs, ...) - we've tried out several drivers which were provided by either Armoury Crate, official help website or on the Forum Thread here (pinned message).
Microphone volume were set between 90-100, which doesn't make a difference.
The current driver we're using is the Realtek Audio Driver v6.4.0.2395.
We can make sure that his mixer isn't the problem as it works perfectly on his old computer.
Is there any idea of what this problem could be and how this is able to be fixed? Appreciate help a lot.

Hello @sovation
Thank you for reaching out to us and sharing the relevant details and video.
After slowing down the video to 0.25x speed, it seems there’s an amplification occurring between 0:12 and 0:13 seconds.
Could you confirm if this matches the microphone boost you described?
Does this issue also occur when you don’t have the Behringer Xenyx 802 connected and instead have headphones or speakers plugged directly into the rear audio ports of the motherboard?
Additionally, please try right-clicking the volume icon, selecting "Sound settings," choosing your audio device, clicking "Properties," and under the "Enhancements" or "Sound Effects" tab, disabling all enhancements, including AGC and equalizer settings, to see if this would help.
We also recommend updating the Realtek Audio Driver to V6.3.9600.2333 from the ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI support site and checking if your current BIOS is up to date.
Thank you.

Hello,
yes, the amplification is what I've been talking about. This appears randomly after my friend bought the new PC.
Regarding your questions, I'd like to give you some answers:
We performed a new, fresh Windows 11 Pro installation as well to figure out if it's within that - unfortunately, nothing changed.
I also checked if there is any issue regarding software that comes with ASUS ROG / Armoury Crate - so Sonic Studio and stuff - but we've uninstalled everything and no settings or changes were made before.
I can also inform you that he's not using the AI option for sound-/microphone improvements.
Since we are getting out of possible ideas - do you have some other ideas we could try to perform? Otherwise we would like to know if this is a case that can be addressed to the shop we bought the PC in, as it appears to be a motherboard problem that cannot be solved with any method. As already mentioned; it's not an issue within the audio interface as it still works without any problems on the old PC.

Hello @sovation
We apologize for the delayed response due to the recent local holiday.
When troubleshooting, we aim to minimize the external devices involved to help narrow down the possible causes.
Therefore, we recommend excluding the mixer during the testing process to further determine if the issue is related to hardware or system settings.
You may also refer to the related FAQs for more information:

For scenarios where the Behringer Xenyx 802 mixer must be included, we suggest consulting the mixer’s supplier for further advice on both hardware and software settings, including any power adjustments, whether power stability is affecting the sound quality or performance, or supported software adjustments.
Thank you.
