Mic Volume Very Low

Amzad

I'm experiencing very low microphone volume when using my headphones connected to my PC through a 3.5mm TRRS to dual TRS splitter (separating mic and headphone jacks).
My headphone has a single 3.5mm TRRS jack (combined audio + mic), so I use a splitter to connect it to my PC’s front panel mic and headphone ports.
I’ve also tried connecting the splitter to the rear motherboard ports (mic in and line out), but the mic volume is still very low.
To rule out the headphone itself, I tested it on another PC, and the microphone worked fine there — clear and at normal volume. I also tried different splitters on my PC with the same splitter setup, but they all have the same issue: mic volume is too low.

-Headphone sound is fine
-Mic input is extremely low, almost unusable
-When I use a USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter, the mic volume is good and clear

If I increase microphone boost to +20 or +30 dB, the mic becomes usable — but with noticeable distortion.

System Specs:
Motherboard: ASUS ROG B850-F
CPU: Ryzen 7 7700
GPU: AMD RX 7600
OS: Windows 11 (fully updated)
Drivers: All up to date (chipset, audio, GPU)

Troubleshooting Tried:
*Clean Windows 11 installation
*Updated all drivers from official sources
*Reinstalled Realtek audio drivers
*Disabled all audio enhancements
*Checked microphone privacy settings
*Boosted mic level to +20/+30 dB (useable mic sound with much noise  )
*set microphone is Max volume.

Has anyone else faced this problem when using TRRS mobile earphones with a splitter on PC?is there any solution?

Is this just a hardware limitation of the motherboard's mic input?
