Hello everyone,
Yesterday, I performed a BIOS update on my motherboard (from version 5003 to 5502).
After completing the update, my motherboard no longer recognized the two drives connected via the M.2 slots, meaning I could no longer boot into Windows. I've already checked several settings I found online, but without success. What's odd is that I can see the drives in the ASUS EZ Flash Utility, but they don't appear in the boot configuration.
I hope you can help me with this issue.

Check the boot settings to make sure that "CSM" is NOT active there, as that could explain this behavior.
Especially since you can see the SSDs in other BIOS/UEFI settings.
Can you select "Windows Boot Manager" in the boot configuration or is it displayed to you?
The Windows Boot Manager is entered into the BIOS when installing Windows in UEFI mode and can then be selected as a boot option.

Hi inge70,
thank you for your response. I have already tested the CSM option in both settings. Unfortunately, without success. Whether activated or deactivated, I still cannot see the hard drives. I can check the UEFI mode again, but I believe it was already set that way.

So in the UEFI the hard drives should generally be displayed somewhere.
As you yourself have already written, you can see them in Asus EZ. They are therefore also recognized, but they are not available as a boot option.
Then the BIOS/UEFI update must have reset some setting so that booting is no longer possible.
As you cannot access Windows, the only thing you can do is check in the BIOS itself:
- Is UEFI active as the boot mode/without CSM (assuming Windows was installed in UEFI mode, which then requires a GPT partition table on the hard drive).
- check whether the "safer boot" mode is active (unfortunately I don't know your motherboard well enough to know where it is)
- try to start the Windows install using a USB stick.
Your hard drives and even the existing Windows install should be displayed/found.
If this is the case, try a repair installation/upgrade of Windows.
This will keep all your data. It is of course important to know whether your Windows installation was carried out in MBR or GPT mode.
For MBR, "CSM" is required in the BIOS, for GPT, "UEFI" boot mode.
You could please post some screenshots here so that we can see WHAT exactly is currently set and visible in the BIOS/UEFI.
Edit:
According to the manual, you should see your hard drives in the UEFI/Bios here:
The boot order is then displayed on the right. What does it say for you?
If you use SATA hard drives, "AHCI" should also be active in the UEFI.
RAID is DEACTIVATED.
If you use NVME SSDs in the M2_2 socket, SATA ports 5 and 6 on your motherboard are deactivated. But then you wouldn't be able to see hard drives connected there in the UEFI either.
CSM should not be active in the boot area (it should say "deactivated" here), because otherwise a UEFI boot and "secure boot" of Windows would not be usable.
Then there is a point "Boot device control", here "UEFI only" should be active and nothing else.
This should actually work, assuming your Windows was installed in UEFI mode with a GPT partition table, which Windows 10 and 11 require.
If this is the case, there must be at least 3 partitions on the hard drive for Windows:
1: EFI partition
2: Your C:
3: Recovery partition
Unfortunately, you cannot see this division in the UEFI, but only in Windows or if you bring the PC into the command prompt (CMD) and then use diskpart commands to display everything.

This is what i See. After the bios update i Can See the the two m2 drives. If i try to boot from them i only See the black screen with a blinking underscore. Both drives still Work as i saw with an adapter on an other pc.

I see the problem.
Your M2 NVME's are not displayed in the UEFI start screen and the "Windows Boot Manager" is missing under Boot Priority, which has been available since Windows 10 so that UEFI boot mode works.
Take a look at my picture and what I marked in red there. This is what it should actually look like:
Therefore, it seems as if your previous Windows installation was either not created in UEFI mode with GPT partition table, but in MBR.
WHERE do you see your NVME's?
When you try to start the PC using a Windows boot stick to reinstall Windows or where?
The fact is that the UEFI update reset the BIOS/UEFI after the flash, which is currently normal for Asus and prevents some setting regarding booting from NVME.
Therefore, try booting the PC with a Windows boot stick and try a new installation of Windows.
Pay attention to the monitor display, if your old Windows is recognized, you will be offered an "UPGRADE". Use this, because this will keep your data and simply "repair" your Windows.
PS:
What kind of NVME's are they exactly and which M2 slot are they in?
