I also opened a case (E24110026198-0001), but maybe someone experiences the same problems. My new X870E-E (newest 0606 BIOS) has problems with the internal LAN adapter. Currently it's connected via Gigabit connection, but that shouldn't cause problems, at least would be very bad if you would have to connect it via 5 Gb/s LAN. It seems to work normally at first, a speed test maxes out my internet connection (1000/500) and ping also is good in speed test. While playing online games, I got massive packet loss issues (while having jumping ping times), competive games are unplayable. When I try to use WiFi or external USB LAN adapter the problems are gone. So I uninstalled the current ASUS LAN driver V1126.16.1121.2023 and let Windows install a driver, which is way older. But with this old driver everything works fine. I can reproduce the problem, when installing new driver again the packet loss problems reappear.
Does someone have similar problems with the new driver? What could that be?

GUYS,
I was battling the same issue as you and found that resetting CMOS on your MB will resolve the issue with the ethernet speed.
I hope this will help you, it takes literally 2 minutes.

Clearing the CMOS fixed this for me somehow despite several bios resets and fresh windows installs. Thank you.
I've tried every other possible fix in this thread including pete4ka's suggested fix that worked for some people.
Edit: see later replies but this is no longer working. The issue seems to be very inconsistent and I'll sometimes get full speeds but generally it's seemingly throttled. Not sure if this is due to packet loss or what else could be causing this issue.

when you cleared the CMOS did you remove the battery or just use the button?
Which version of the Realtek driver are you running now?

I used the button on the back.
For realtek drivers I was originally using the default windows one up until the other night when my download speed tanked from 1.0Gbps to like 10Mbps and I couldnt figure out what was causing it until I installed the one pete4ka recommended ( V10.73 NDIS driver from the realtek page) and it immediately fixed it. Not sure if it was just a coincidence or what suddenly caused it in the first place.

I am surprised that ASUS don't care about this, despite being one of their expensive products. Maybe they don't like money, don't care about their brand, or just cant be bothered?
I asked ASUS for help and after days of no response, they finally gave me support. They gave me information on how to connect to the internet using a router and an RJ45 cable plugged into the PC. Automatically treating customers like senior citizens trying to work a mobile phone is a big no no. Irritating. When I pointed this out, the decided to ignore me and move on.
I fixed my issue using an older driver, with help from one of you guys I fixed my issue. Guess thats how ASUS fix their issues, let users work it out for themselves.
Customer service is a big part of why I choose products, so this is the last time for me guys.

I honestly thought I was going crazy until I ran into this post. I just booted into my new system with exactly the same ROG STRIX X870E-E Gaming Wifi 7 MOBO (also updated it to the most recent BIOS version 1003 which released on 1/23/2025); however, simply browsing the web has been extremely slow. I used the ASUS DriverHub to install all necessary drivers and double checked with the support page for our motherboard and they are the most recent versions, including the Realtek LAN Driver version you have posted here.
When running an internet speed test, my download speeds do NOT surpass roughly ~93-95 Mbps, it's insane. Have you been able to find a solution to this yet? Not sure if ASUS ever replied back to you on a recommended fix or driver rollback, but any details would be greatly appreciated.
I am about to try and uninstall the Realtek LAN Driver V1126.16.1121.2023 and let Windows automatically install an older one to hopefully alleviate this issue similar to how it worked for you.

I have this exact issue you're talking about. It was originally fixed for a bit after a CMOS clear and fiddling with drivers but it's come back again somehow. I tried reaching out to ASUS and they're suggesting and RMA but I don't believe this is going to fix my issues given that other people are experiencing the same thing.
I've tried everything I could think of from all the listed possible fixes in this thread to reinstalling windows 11 three times, trying different power supplies, different ethernet cables, bios settings, the works.
Sometimes the download speeds will be my full 1gbps and I'll get 0 or 0.1% packet loss and other times it will slow to a crawl and even regular internet browsing will be a challenge. I can stream videos on netflix fine, youtube sometimes fine, but discord basically never. Very strange issue.

Use the driver provided by pete4ka from Realtek's website
I did the same thing as you with letting Windows reinstall an older driver and even that did not fix my issues
I have not had any issues at all since using the driver pete4ka linked to

I tried this with no luck.

I had tried everything suggested in this thread with limited success. I opened a ticket with Asus and in conclusion they suggested I returned my motherboard to the supplier for a refund. I have a 1 Gbit connection and I was used to getting download speeds of 945 Mbps and upload speeds of 110 Mbps. My download speed would drop to 110 Mbps and even as low as 83 Mbps at one point. In Windows 11 under Settings > Network & Internet > Ethernet it would start by showing my aggregated line speed as 1000/1000 as I have a 1g connection to my router using a cat6 cable. But after a while this would drop to 100/100 hense my significantly reduced download speeds. Undeterred I did some more testing and discovered that changing the EEE Max Support Speed to 1.0 Gbps Full Duplex under the advanced tab of the Ethernet adapter locked it at 1000/1000 and my download speeds have not dropped since then. Hope this helps anybody experiencing the same issue as me.
