I also opened a case (E24110026198-0001), but maybe someone experiences the same problems. My new X870E-E (newest 0606 BIOS) has problems with the internal LAN adapter. Currently it's connected via Gigabit connection, but that shouldn't cause problems, at least would be very bad if you would have to connect it via 5 Gb/s LAN. It seems to work normally at first, a speed test maxes out my internet connection (1000/500) and ping also is good in speed test. While playing online games, I got massive packet loss issues (while having jumping ping times), competive games are unplayable. When I try to use WiFi or external USB LAN adapter the problems are gone. So I uninstalled the current ASUS LAN driver V1126.16.1121.2023 and let Windows install a driver, which is way older. But with this old driver everything works fine. I can reproduce the problem, when installing new driver again the packet loss problems reappear.
Does someone have similar problems with the new driver? What could that be?

Sadly only fix was to send it back and I replaced with an MSI mobo. That works perfectly and it even has the same realtec network chip....

That’s a shame. I turned off the Energy Efficient Ethernet and it seems to have fixed it, for now. After turning it off, I ran POE 2 for about 10 minutes and it ran smoothly. I need to go to bed soon so I will need more time to test. Only time will tell… I would need to switch to the MSI carbon if it goes back

Although I didn't want to have to rebuild I'm glad I did. The MSI even benchmarks better.
Games felt much smoother.
I never turned the energy setting off though so I have no way of telling..
The whole thing was strange.. it would literally run fine from fresh reboot for about 5 to 10 mins.
Still can't believe they haven't fixed with a bios update or something.

When I first started noticing the problem, the first thing I did was update the bios and that didn’t work.
Rebuilding would be a pain for me. My build is a custom loop lol!

It would be nice if ASUS support could get involved here so that people can better decide whether they should exchange their motherboard. After all, it takes a lot of effort to take everything apart.
It seems to be a general problem with the 9800X3D, or does anyone here have a different processor?

I had same issue on 7800x3d so not only 9800x3d has this problem. I solved my problem by returning my mobo and getting Aorus one 🙂

That's just wrong. For most people, turning off EEE solves the problem.

Unfortunately not in my case. I have turned off EEE and the problems persist.
- With standard drivers: Problems occur after a few minutes of playing POE.
- With new Realtek drivers: Internet connection breaks regularly without playing. The Internet connection breaks every few minutes or even seconds.
- With new Realtek drivers and EEE turned off: The Internet connection is stable and it works so far. However, as soon as I start playing POE, the game starts to stutter after a few minutes. I tested the Internet connection with a parallel window open while the game was running. The connection speed collapses completely. After a restart, the Internet connection works again. So as long as you are not playing, it works.

Just send the mobo back... It's what I did. Picked up an MSI.
I can't believe no fix or word from Asus.
Personally I doubt I'll touch an Asus mobo in the future .

Then it's not the same issue. I'm not sure some people replying in this thread know what packet loss is.
This issue is 100% fixed by disabling EEE as reported by multiple people
