LAN Problems with ROG STRIX X870E-E and 9800X3D - Massive Packet Loss

I also opened a case (E24110026198-0001), but maybe someone experiences the same problems. My new X870E-E (newest 0606 BIOS) has problems with the internal LAN adapter. Currently it's connected via Gigabit connection, but that  shouldn't cause problems, at least would be very bad if you would have to connect it via 5 Gb/s LAN. It seems to work normally at first, a speed test maxes out my internet connection (1000/500) and ping also is good in speed test. While playing online games, I got massive packet loss issues (while having jumping ping times), competive games are unplayable. When I try to use WiFi or external USB LAN adapter the problems are gone. So I uninstalled the current ASUS LAN driver V1126.16.1121.2023 and let Windows install a driver, which is way older. But with this old driver everything works fine. I can reproduce the problem, when installing new driver again the packet loss problems reappear.

Does someone have similar problems with the new driver? What could that be?

Did you do a full reinstall of Windows on the new board, or did it just work right away?

It worked immediately. I had to log in again with my Microsoft password and reactivate Microsoft Office when I started it. Thats it

Interesting. I might have to replace my board

What Realtek driver version are you currently using?

I'm using the latest Realtek driver without disabled power-saving settings. Unfortunately, I can't check the version number right now. The old motherboard or network card was definitely broken.

The only fix for me was replacing the Mobo. I bought the asus rog X870e-Crosshair Hero. It has the exact same 5gbe Realtek Nic / driver. It works fine so far. My problem was download speed was 3-5mbits upload was fine. I have 1gbit internet. I tried tons of hours to fix the problem. Very strange was when i change the speed of the ethernet to 100mbits it was reaching it normaly but the download latency was terrible.. changing back to 1gbit duplex my speed was again 3-5mbits barely was able to load normal internet sites like facebook. Short term a USB to Ethernet adapter helped me out to get my full speed back. But that was no solution for me because i play cs2 at a semi pro level and ethernet must work @ 100%.

I am having issues with all the ethernet and WiFi connections. If I use the 2.5 gb port or wifi my speeds cap out at 70-95 Mbps up and down. When I use the 5 Gbps connection I get my full 1 Gbps up and down. However, any game I play random disconnects. I have this issue with Once Human, Star Citizen and No Man's Sky. I have flashed to the newest BIOS. I have the same version of the Realtek driver everyone else seems to have from ASUS back from 09/2024.

So came here for my new x870e-e board. I do notr have such big ethernet problems but still ahd ever 20 minutes or so a lag what is pretty annoying in gaming.

I also tried installing windows driver and realtek from asus and all the same problem.

Also disabled all three energy saving settings int he realtek 5 family driver. Nothing helped.

So I learned from one person that the drivers differ in the NetAdapterCx and NDIS style ( and what Realtek/Marvell/Intel did). [page 7 MoKiChU  ]

Then i saw on page 15 someone mentioning dinstalling the NDIS driver 10.73.( THANKS sleepvertigo !). Actually pete4ka  also pointed earlier to this.

Unfortunately in the realtek side there is only 10.74 available.

Win10/Win11 Auto Installation Program (NDIS) - Not Support Power Saving10.742025/03/285 MB

I installed this and tried fro 2 hours now and not one loss ( to check it in run some website called packetlosstest.com and then while playing let run the realtek tool:

Ethernet Diagnostic Program for Win7/Win8/Win10/Win112.0.8.12024/09/25

Installing this and going for "Statistics" and see send and receive errors. 0 for 2 hours.

So hope this has fixed it. UPDATE: It did not. Furthermore, the Realtek Statistics did not show errors when it occurred. So either it is not a networkissue ( maybe Interrutps as I also saw in a MSI thread) or it is not counted in the statistics of this tool. anyway proven useless.

Thanks everyone in this post for sharing information and error typed and trying to help each other, you are great!
