As per the title, I'm in the late stages of a high end build and I'm getting my final blocks situated.
I don't want a monoblock because I really don't care for EKWBs designs. I have a Z790 Dark Hero that I've done some special things to and wish to stay with this board as it's a DDR5 overclocking monster for a 4 DIMM. I've taken top positions in DDR5 benchmarks including #2 in NA for air cooled DIMMs with it so I intend to keep it.
I'm ordering my last two needed blocks and would like to inquire if anybody has ever swapped a Formula VRM block onto a Dark Hero, the layouts of all the SMD are identical so it should work without issue. If so is there a part # or way to order the VRM block from Asus directly? Thank you.

Hi @GlassGhost
AFAIK, the block cannot be purchased separately. Although customer service agents respond here, they won't likely recommend you do this. Although the VRM design is the same and the crosschill was designed in-house, I can't say whether it will fit.

Should fit, the Maximus Formula and Dark Hero should have a 1:1 PCB design.
I doubt Asus would let me buy a NFG Formula to scavenge from, shazbot.

Hello, @GlassGhost
We do not sell individual onboard components separately.
If you have lost any components, please contact the original place of purchase or ASUS official customer service to arrange for repair and inspection.
Thank you.

Didn't lose any components @Jiaszzz_ROG I've got a scratch built high performance build nearing completion and I was planning on customizing My Dark Hero since it's got a DD waterblock for the 14900KS, 4 DIMM waterblock, Corsair NVME waterblocks for the nvme slots, figured might as well do the VRM as well. Didn't want to buy a Formula since this DH has only two months on it and is setting benchmark records already.
