Install M.2 via PCI-E adapter and install it as boot device on Intel Z68 chipset

I want to install an M.2 NVMe SSD PCI-e adapter on my Asus Maximus IV GENE-Z/GEN3. According to what I've read, you have to modify the BIOS, but I don't know where to find this modified BIOS.

What do you recommend?

Hello @al3244566

Thank you for reaching out to us, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused by the delayed reply.
We recommend referring to the MAXIMUS IV GENE-Z/GEN3 support device QVL when installing storage devices and avoiding the use of extension cables or adapters to prevent potential compatibility issues.
For instructions on how to set the boot device priorities, please refer to [Motherboard] How to set the boot device priorities on the motherboard.
Meanwhile, the ROG forum is specifically for discussions related to the ROG or TUF gaming series products.
If you have inquiries regarding non-gaming series motherboards, we recommend posting your discussion on Zentalk>Motherboard.

Thank you.
