I can’t get my RAM speed from the 4800MHz shown in the BIOS to the desired 6000MHz on ROG Strix B850

I built my new PC but ran into a problem that I just can’t solve.

System:

ASUS ROG Strix B850-A Gaming AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 2x 32GB ADATA XPG Lancer [AX5U6000C3032G-DCLAWH]

I initially checked the DRAM compatibility on the ASUS website and this memory was on the QVL list, however I have no way to make stable performance at 6000MHz.

I have tried everything EXPO I, II and Tweaked - nothing has helped. I also disabled EXPO and manually set the clock speed and voltage - still to no avail. I've tried different RAM slots and tested with only one card at a time - still no result. The PC reboots and the Yellow-LED lights up indefinitely.

I tried installing all BIOS versions ( 0403, 0806, 0816, 0825) as well as the latest beta BIOS ( 1001,1005) in the last one it says “This includes support for 2*DIMM memory configurations, achieving speeds up to 6800MT/s with AEMP enabled”.

I am out of ideas, I hope I can get help to solve this problem.

Hello @Ronie_VS

Thank you for reaching out to us.
May I kindly inquire if your memory modules are installed in the DIMM_A2 and B2 slots? If you have only installed a single module in DIMM_A2, does enabling EXPO I operate stably?

We recommend updating to the latest BIOS version 1006, released on February 27, 2025, clearing CMOS before installing one module, and ensuring stable overclocking settings before installing the second module.
If the above suggestions do not help, could you kindly provide the following information to assist us in further investigation?
- A full video recording of the issue, including the following steps:
Clear CMOS > Verify the memory installation slot positions > Power on, enable EXPO I, save settings, and demonstrate the instability along with the DRAM Q-LED indicator lighting up.
- The PSU, RAM model and part number, and two .txt files generated in your Windows system via the steps below:
1) Press WIN + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog, and type dxdiag → click OK.
2) Click Save All Information and select a save location → click Save.
3) Repeat the same steps with msinfo32 to generate the second file.
You may upload the files and video to cloud storage, grant access, and share a link with us for further investigation.

Thank you for your cooperation.
