Greetings,
I need to update the BIOS on my ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming WiFi D4 motherboard without actually being at the computer. I need to update the BIOS remotely (the computer is 600+ miles away from me). I have full remote internet admin access to it (it's running Windows 11) and have tried using all of the various ASUS tools to flash the BIOS, but every time it reboots, the BIOS version never changes.
Is there any way to update the BIOS without user interaction? All the other computers I manage can do this fine (HP, Dell, Lenovo) so why can't this be done on an ASUS motherboard?
Thank you,
NS

Hi @NongShim5000 , as you have found ASUS EZ Update BIOS tool is only meant to be used during the POST. There is no Windows based tool officially available to update BIOS like other companies you have referenced.
I have never used it but there is an option to enable Network Stack in ASUS UEFI BIOS mode. Once this is enabled and configured maybe then you can use the EZ Update tool to update BIOS on ASUS machine.
I don't have instructions to help you out as I don't have a need for such a feature. Maybe someone else here can help. Or with this information you can do some more research on how to do it now.

Hello, @NongShim5000
We apologize for the delayed response.
If you need to update the BIOS remotely, please refer to the steps in [Motherboard] EZ Update - Introduction if needed.
You can download AI Suite 3 from the ROG STRIX Z690-A GAMING WIFI D4 support page and complete the EZ Update through AI Suite 3.
Thank you.

Hello, @NongShim5000
The ROG STRIX Z690-A GAMING WIFI D4 supports BIOS updates via BIOS FlashBack.
After backing up important data, please refer to "[Motherboard] How to use USB BIOS FlashBack™?" for instructions.
Use the BIOS FlashBack™ button on the rear panel to update the BIOS, and no keyboard is required during this process.
Thank you.

@Jiaszzz_ROG Thank you, however, as mentioned in my post, I am 600+ miles away from the computer and no qualified people to touch it at the location. I only have remote internet access, hence my request to do the update remotely, without physical access to the computer.
Thanks.
