Failing to POST: Z790 STRIX ITX 96GiB (2x48GiB) DDR5 RAM support

Upgraded to a Teamgroup 2x48gb DDR5 kit, XMP 6800 on a Z790 STRIX ITX w/ a 14900K

TEAMGROUP T-Create Expert Overclocking 10L DDR5 96GB Kit (2 x 48GB) 6800MHz (PC5-54400) CL36 M-DIE Desktop Memory Module Ram Black - CTCED596G6800HC36DDC01

Even with CMOS cleared it hangs with an Orange light on the ROG Hive, indicating a DRAM error despite the fact that it should boot at JEDEC speeds at least. I'm on the latest 1801 BIOS as well

OK fixed this -- for anyone in the future, with your old sticks of RAM, force-set (manual) the DRAM and OC timings to stock JEDEC 4800 as this must work on all ram. Then boot the new sticks, which will do some training. OC'ing from there is via XMP and more training but that's optional.

Hello, @thegeneralguy

Due to the ongoing local holidays in our area, my response time may experience delays.
I apologize for any inconvenience the delayed replies may have caused.

I'm glad you were able to pinpoint the problem.
If you encounter any memory issues, we recommend cross-testing with the memory listed in the memory QVL, as ASUS has verified the motherboard for optimal stability and compatibility when using devices from the list.
Please refer to [Motherboard] How to query (CPU/memory) QVL List? if needed.

Thank you.
