Exactly what screws are needed to install m.2 drives in the Xenith Extreme 2 DIMM 2 extention card?

I found the card, but dont remember there being screws in the bag

The instruction are utterly useless as they don state what crewm dont have a photo, dont mention what conde on the bag is the rigght screwsm, there is just a mention of a bag of assorted crews that comes with the motherboard so I have no idea which one sto use and figure and error could damage it.

So nooed the screw unit number on the bag and photos if possible please

Hello @Spikeysonic

Thank you for reaching out to us.
May I ask if you notice the missing screws in a newly purchased product? If so, we recommend contacting your reseller promptly.
Could you confirm if the model you're inquiring about is the ROG Zenith II Extreme, and if the missing screws are those shown in the image on page 2-13 of the user manual?

I have dm you to confirm further information, kindly check it at your convenience.

Thank you.

Yes the mother board is the Asus Rog Zeneth Extreme 2 and yes thats the part with the missing screws. There are screws holding the heat sink blocks to to board or card, 3 one side 2 the other, but there were no screws to pin the SSD to the card either side. I took one of the screws  off the heat sink case and tried using it to attach one of the SSDs whihc seemed to fit but then thats not a practical solution as I hneed those to hold the heat sink cases to the SSDs.

The computer was built and purchased 2022 so not that recent and this was not looked at before as the mother board had 2 SSD slots on the front whihc were easy to access where I had 1 system C: SSD drive and one I used for projects and work (both 1 TB and now Im adding a pair of 2tb drives.

there is another SSD slot somewhere on the back of the mother board but I can get at it withtou takign the whole PC apart to get to the back of the mother board and there are metal panels in the way of the case on the other side.

A big problem is the manula does not specify what screws... no bag number and no close up photo or picture and just mentions a bunch of screws that come with the system but when I had a look in the box none fit.

WHen I contacted AUSUS technical support  they said I had to email as they dont deal with motnehr boards thouse will try custimer service and try the missing parts angle

Also any help with how to clone the system dive on a 1tb ssd drive to upgrade to a 2 tb drive so the computer works better would be appreciated please. I downloaded  train version os Acronus. Easeus and Macrium homereflect but not got a clue howe to use them and dont know if there are limitation other than 1 month tril to do the cloning

  • Also when the screw issue is sorted in regards to the cloing and replacement of the system drive  onederign about the practical issues

    Currently its

2 x 1tb SSD drives on the mother board

One system C: drive with just software and system controlled folders,

The second Motherboard slot holding the "Project files" ie holewordm cvs music etc

The DIMM card hows 2 SSD whihc at first will be the 2 new 2b SSD drives when blank.

I figure cippiing all the prodject drives shoudl be easy, either a stright copy and paste (but can see the cant copy this film as name is too lone poroblem cropping up... figure one or all of the 3 cloing and back up software may help with that.

but when it comes to the system drive after cloing how to swap the 2 new 2 tb drives on the Dimm card with the ones on the mother board, like what order of tasks?

swim the new clones SSD drive with the current one (like would it automatically take on the C: name or woudl I need to put it in the project drive sloth first then tell the boaos to do that then swap them again etc

Ie how do I end up with the ole 1 tb drives on the DIMm card and the nice new bigger SSD drives on teh mother board or shoudl I just leave them on that expansion card

    etc?

Hello @Spikeysonic

Regarding the product serial number, we recommend that you do not disclose it in public comment sections due to privacy concerns.
I have updated the relevant information in our pm conversation, and please check the inbox in the top right corner at your convenience.

As for cloning and replacing the SSD, you may need to use third-party software to resolve any copying issues.
We recommend first removing the old SSD and directly installing the new one to ensure that the BIOS can recognize it. Then, you can reinstall both the old and new SSDs (making sure to select the correct system drive to boot from in the BIOS) and use third-party software to copy and replace the data or drivers. Once completed, shut down the power, remove the old SSD, and install the new SSD onto the motherboard, ensuring that the motherboard can select the new SSD as the boot drive.

In Windows, go to Disk Management to confirm if the new SSD is displayed as the C: drive. If not, right-click and select "Change Drive Letter and Paths" to set it as C:.

Thank you.

Hello @Spikeysonic

We're not entirely sure what issue you're encountering on the forum. If needed, please feel free to share a screenshot to help us better understand the situation.
Regarding the screw specifications for the DIMM.2, it is M2*L5.5. M2 indicates the screw has a diameter of 2 mm, which is the outer diameter, and L5.5 indicates the screw length is 5.5 mm. Should you need to find suitable screws, you may want to search based on this specification.

Thank you.
