My ethernet controller status used to show as "Connected" in the BIOS but recently, it has not.
The Ethernet works fine within Windows 10 but I need it to be connected in the BIOS before I boot to Windows.
All LAN / Network Stack configuration options are enabled and the ethernet cable connected, showing both green and orange lights, yet the BIOS reports the link status as disconnected.
Can anyone help?

Hello, @lukehall
Due to the ongoing local holidays in our area, my response time may experience delays.
I apologize for any inconvenience the delayed replies may have caused.
Could you specify what software or hardware changes preceded the recent not showing "Connected" issue, such as a Windows update, and clarify further about the situation of " need it to be connected in the BIOS before booting into Windows"?
If you don't follow the steps mentioned, does it result in a network disconnection, and are there any error codes in the event logs?
If disabling EEE as shown in the following path would resolve the issue?
Intel(R) Ethernet Controller Properties > Select "Energy Efficient Ethernet" > Set Value to "On (when system is in S0, S0c and Sx)".
Kindly refer to the following FAQs, and consider updating the BIOS to the latest version 2301 and clearing CMOS before rechecking again.
