I am seeking help for how to setup my motherboard to connect to a Dolby Atmos device and use an eARC. My understanding was that Dolby Atmos required using eARC to connect with an audio device. I've tried installing the latest audio driver and the utility for dolby atmos using the armory crate app, but I still can't figure out how to access the feature. Is it possible to get eARC working with my motherboard? I can't find anything in the motherboard manual referring to eARC or dolby atmos despite it being listed as a feature when I purchased the motherboard.

Hello @GoldenTribe
Thank you for reaching out to us.
According to the Tech Specs for the ROG CROSSHAIR X870E HERO, Dolby Atmos is supported under the Software Features section.
Please ensure that your audio device and drivers are compatible with Dolby Atmos, and you can check this by navigating to Settings > System > Sound > Sound Control Panel > Playback tab, selecting your audio device, and clicking Properties. Under the Spatial sound tab, select "Dolby Atmos" if available.
For further details, you may refer to How to use HDMI connection with Dolby Atmos.
Meanwhile, if you are connecting your audio device directly to the motherboard’s HDMI port, could you confirm the specifications of your CPU, the model and specs of the eARC device at the other end, and the specifications of your HDMI cable?
Thank you.

Thanks for your reply. I am attempting to connect a soundbar to my motherboards HDMI port.
1. CPU: Ryzen 9 9950x
2. eARC device: SV210M-0808 VIZIO 2.1 Soundbar
3. HDMI cable: the supplied eARC cable, specifications not found on cable or in user manual
I currently have my processors integrated graphics turned off because I use another video card. Does using the eARC HDMI connection require the integrated graphics be turned on?

Hello @GoldenTribe
Thank you for providing the additional information. We are currently coordinating with the relevant teams to confirm details regarding eARC.
In the meantime, we would like to clarify a few usage scenarios with you:
1) Could you check if you are able to configure Dolby Atmos as per the steps mentioned above?
If not, could you please share screenshots of the specified path?
2) Is the HDMI cable you mentioned the one included with the soundbar?
Have you also tried cross-testing with other HDMI cables besides the one included?
3) When connecting via HDMI to the motherboard's rear panel and the soundbar, does the soundbar appear in Device Manager, and can it function correctly?
4) Please help confirm the current versions of your BIOS, operating system, OS build, audio drivers, and any other related drivers.
Additionally, please provide the brand and model details of your GPU, RAM, and PSU.
Thank you.
