So I've been running my 7800X3D since they came out with no issues, using 1905 firmware. I am using dual rank a-die (96gb) and had flashed to 2506 firmware in EZ Flash prior to installing the 9800X3D.
I'm getting motherboard lights but no fans, no post code when trying to boot. I reinstalled the 7800X3D and have no issues booting with it.
I'm not sure what could be the culprit?

Hi, Iv'e just seen this discussion as i'm also interested in running the same setup (currently running a 7700X)

Looks like we may have to step the BIOS versions until reaching the latest version (Or the learning times could take hours??? I remember when I first got my x670E and read somewhere it could take 12 plus hours to learn the RAM timings etc.)
I look forward to finding out how you get on as I'm still reasearching if I want to venture forth to the 9800x3D.

Thanks for the reply. My concern is it's not even producing an error code let alone trying to train RAM. Motherboard lights and nothing else.

Take a look and another 'cdepetro' got nil on their mobo (Quote: I have a TUF X670-E Gaming Wifi. Replaced 7700X with 9800X3D and can't even get it to POST. Running 3057 BIOS with the latest AGESA 1.2.0.2a.), and he started back at older Bios and got up and running (Quote: Stepped upgrade of BIOS worked great for me. 9800x3d running stable on TUF Gaming X670-E with G Skill memory at 6000, EXPO-I, PBO, and -20 offset.) Drop 'cdepetro' a line to confirm his initial mobo response. (I know its a diff mobo, but seems to be a common issue with people stepping up to the 9800x3D).

Hello @ShireFPS
Based on your description, after updating to BIOS 2506, your system fails to boot with the 9800X3D installed, but boots fine with the 7800X3D.
When the 9800X3D is installed and the system fails to boot with BIOS 2506, aside from the lack of a POST code, do any Q-LED indicators remain solid? And would it be any difference if you cleared CMOS and attempted to boot again?
Could you please provide the full brand and model of the GPU, PSU, as well as the part number of the currently installed RAM to help us confirm your configuration?
Please also try performing a minimal setup test: Install the 9800X3D on the motherboard, use the integrated graphics output, install a single RAM stick in the DIMM_A2 slot, and connect the CPU fan and PSU before checking if the system can boot into BIOS.
If the system still does not boot, please consider cross-testing the CPU by installing it on another motherboard.
Thank you.

Hi, I have 2 different sets of RAM and had tried both. 1 is 2x48gb ddr6800 TCreate which is dual rank. The other is 2x24gb ddr7200 TCreate. Both setups work with the 7800x3d.
My psu is a Seasonic atx3.0 px 1600
My video card is an ASRock 7900xtx aqua.
I have tried clearing cmos with the new processor in and prior to installing it, with the 7800x3d in.

Hello @ShireFPS
Thank you for the prompt response.
Due to the potential impact of CPU replacement on memory compatibility, it could result in issues such as the system failing to boot.
Therefore, we recommend verifying whether both RMA sets have been tested and are listed in the QVL for the ROG CROSSHAIR X670E HERO and AMD Ryzen 9000 CPU.
Additionally, could you kindly share whether there are any Q-LED indicators solid and provide the results of the minimal hardware setup testing?
Thank you.

I'll take a look later tonight when I'm home from work. My only concern here is that it feels very strange that the 7800X3D trains on the same board but the 9800X3D won't even spin up due to memory?

Hi guys,
In addition to checking the above, see if the latest beta helps. Latest AGESA causes some issues with memory OC.
