Crosshair VIII Hero X570 with ASUS Hyper M.2 X16 PCIe 3.0 X4 Expansion Card V2 - first 2 SSDs only

Did some Googling, Asus manual reading and I still can't get this working.  So here I am!

  • I've got 4 SSDs installed on the Hyper card
  • 4 x M.2 2280 SSD drives (two 4T, two 2T)
  • I got the Hyper plugged into my PCIe x16_2 slot
  • I changed the BIOS for that slot to [PCIe RAID Mode]
  • My X570 is a 3rd Gen AMD Processors
  • I also have 2 x M.2 2280 SSD drives in the M.2 board slots

Only the drives in the first two Hyper slots show up for me.

Any tips appreeesh!!

Lisa W.

Hello @guitrldy

Due to the ongoing local holidays in our area, our response time may experience delays.
We apologize for any inconvenience the delayed replies may have caused.

Thank you for sharing the context and detailed specification.
According to the [Motherboard] Compatibility of PCIE Bifurcation between Hyper M.2 Series Cards and Add-On Graphic C..., when installing the Hyper M.2 on the ROG Crosshair VIII Hero, it should be installed in the PCIEX16_1 slot, and the Hyper M.2 can only recognize up to 3 SSDs.

We recommend following the installation guidelines to reinstall before checking again.
Additionally, please make sure that the current BIOS version, SSD drivers, and firmware are all updated to the latest versions.

Thank you.

As the local holiday is ongoing, there may be further delays in responses.
We appreciate your patience in advance.

Excellent, this is the info I was looking for!  I'll try this today.

One more question: can I add a second Hyper M.2  card in the PCIEX16_2 slot?

Thanks!
Lisa W.
