Computer won't POST with EXPO enabled ROG STRIX X870-E

Hi there, I can't get my PC to POST with EXPO enabled. The processor is a 9800X3D and the memory is 2x32GB ADATA XPG Lancer 6000MT/s CL30 at 1.35V. On default it's fine but the when I enable EXPO nothing happens. I've tried swapping out the sticks between A2 and B2 and trying with a single stick. Is the memory a dud or is it just too ambitious having 64GB at 6000MT/s?

I'm not sure if you memory is on the QVL or not, but for me at least I have the Corsair CMP64GX5M2B6000Z30 and with expo turned on at 6000mhz the system crashes about 25% of the time. So it may be a problem with the boards as nothing I have done seems to work

Hello @Crumpeter
As per the previous user inquiry, could you please confirm if the memory you currently have installed is listed in the QVL for the ROG STRIX X870E-E GAMING WIFI?

When enabling EXPO and encountering a failure to POST, were there any Q-LED indicator lights or Q-codes displayed?
Could you also share the part number of your memory and specify whether you are using EXPO I or EXPO II for overclocking?
If your memory is not listed in the QVL or cannot operate stably with default parameters applied, we suggest trying to manually adjust the memory overclocking parameters.

Thank you!

Hello @hydrus

Since EXPO I uses timings and parameters optimized by ASUS, could you confirm if the crashes occurring 25% of the time happen specifically with EXPO I enabled? Is it only with EXPO enabled, or have there been additional adjustments such as CPU power delivery or other power settings?
Have you tried other configurations, such as EXPO II, Tweaked, DOCP I, or DOCP II, and did they yield different results? (Please note that the available configuration options may vary depending on the DIMM model installed.)

If possible, please provide the following information to help us investigate the issue:
- the brand and model of your PSU
- two.txt files generated in your Windows system using the steps below:
1) Press WIN + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog, type: dxdiag, and click OK.
2) Click Save All Information, choose a save location, and click Save.
3) Repeat the same steps, replacing the command in step 1 with: msinfo32.
- record a video following these steps: Start recording> Show the current RAM installation slots> Clear CMOS> Boot into BIOS, enable EXPO I, save and reboot> Confirm whether the system fails to boot or crashes occur within the OS> Show your current troubleshooting steps> End the recording.
Kindly upload the two.txt files and the video to a cloud storage service, ensure access permissions are granted, and share the link with us for further investigation.

Thank you.

Hi,

I've attached the files and the video. The video was taken with EXPO 1 profile one with default settings. If you really want me to, I can take it showing the clearing the CMOS and all that but I did it before this video and a million times before that when I was trying to figure things out. The computer stutters on all EXPO profiles. I have attached my files and a youtube link of what I mean.

msinfo https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ogbt8GL_C9ThItqF7YXrm3GF3LtvKEc_/view?usp=drive_link

dxdiag: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QmH0jgzxdPSdY76YN_E5iguH8LtOzkCm/view?usp=sharing

youtube: https://youtu.be/9hj7ODSZId4

Video shows windows stutter after waking from sleep on a ROG strix 870e-e with EXPO enabled. The computer is running Windows 11 Pro, ROG strix 870e-e, PNY 4090, 2 x 32 GB of Corsair dominator ram (on QVL), with a 9800x3d cooled by a nocta NH-d15 G2.
