sorry if this is in the wrong area, went away for a week so powered down the computer turned off at the wall once all down. Come back and turned on and I get a bleeping noise from the speakers every 2-3 seconds, the cd drive flashing yellow and the ROG strip logo flashing red on the motherboard. I’m thinking power unit but wondered if anybody more skilled had any ideas?
current set up (if it matters) all approx 2021
Motherboard - ASUS ROG strix b-460 H ATX
cpu - i5 10600KF 6 core
memory - 32GB DDR4 3200mhz
power unit - gigabyte 750w modular
computer was working fine last week (last time on, no warnings, errors or faults flagged)
Thanks all

Thank you for confirming.
Since it's not powering up anything at all, it could be the psu as you suspect.
Would you by chance have another psu to test with?

Hello Meanoldwarthog,
What is the beep sequence you get from the speaker when trying to boot up, this can point to the device causing the issue.

Hi,
the noise from the speaker isn’t so much of a bleep when attempting to start the computer, it’s more of a muffled crackling for around 1 second every 3/4 seconds or so. Computer wont even attempt to start. Cd drive and speakers once connected via usb to the main computer simply flash (drive) and speakers make that noise. Light on motherboard (attached in previous photo) flashes for a number of minutes then stays solid on for around 10 seconds then goes off completely.
Thanks

Thank you.
My fault, I thought you had a motherboard speaker connected.
Two easy things to try are:
1) Try clearing the cmos according to the motherboard manual.
2) If clearing the cmos didn't get you to boot up, try updating/reflashing the bios with the bios flashback feature. If you need help with updating the bios, just say so.

Hi thanks,
I’ve reset the cmos as per the manual, contact them and remove battery for 5 minutes. Computer will not power anything on at all. I can’t get it to bios as the computer doesn’t power on at all. No sound from the speakers or the flashing from the cd drive this time though.
thanks

Ok, sorry to hear that didn't work.
In the tech specs, it shows the ROG Strix B460-H Gaming as having the bios flashback feature, but looking in the motherboard manual, I'm not seeing it.
Can you check on the back I/O panel to see if you have a bios flashback button and a usb port marked BIOS.

Hi,
rear panel shows no bios flash or usb marked as such. Manual states it can be done via usb or bios settings page. But I can’t access that as the computer won’t even start up at all
thanks

Hi, I’ll check to see if anybody has one I can borrow to check this. The psu is only 2 years old so surely shouldn’t be the issue but with no power at all that was my guess. Current psu is a P750GM 750w modular 80+ gold
would I need one the exact same to test or could I use any psu? What is the lowest W I could use? May have an old one lying around at work but no idea of the spec etc atm
thanks

Since you're using a KF cpu, you'd want a psu that's strong enough for your graphics card.
