The Intel ME and IMEI are two different things. The MEUpdate Tool is a firmware update, the Intel Management Engine Interface driver is a driver.

You can update the bios first.

1) Update the bios.

2) Run the MEUpdate Tool.

3) Install the Intel Management Engine Interface driver.

Hello shafiqraaz74

Follow this video to put the bios file on a usb flash drive. Make sure your flash drive is formatted to the .FAT32 file system.

Link to the Maximus XI Hero. - ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO - Support (asus.com)

Once you have the bios file on your usb flash drive:

1) With your pc powered off and the psu switch on, insert the usb flash drive into the bios flashback port (marked red).

2) Press and hold the bios flashback button to start the update, the bios flashback button should start blinking, when the blinking stops, the update is complete. Should take around 2 minutes.

3) Start your pc, it may continue to update. Let it finish and the bios update is complete.

@Nate152  Many many thanx for helping me out but that is not the problem am facing another problem and that is, I haven't updated the bios of my motherboard for a long time now I'm trying to update and I see on asus website there are many updates in phases, Now the question is should I flash all the updates one by one or just flash the latest one?
Even there is another problem that there are many updates of Intel Management Engine also. I searched the internet and saw that everyone is talking about installing update the Intel Management Engine before updating the bios? But I saw that there has so many intel management engine updates are avaiable, now what should I do.
Should I update bios first or update intel management engine first? Or shuld i just updating the bios will update the Intel Management Engine firmware automatically?

(note that)

My board is : Asus maximus z390 Hero
Current Bios version is : Version 0602 (release date : 2018/10/31)

latest available version is : Version 2004
Release date : 2021/11/29

and

Current Intel Management Engine Firmware : Version 12.0.6.1120 ( I havn't seen any such version on the website)

Latest version is : (MEUpdateTool 12.0.81.1753v4)
Release date : 2021/05/11

I am suffering with this frustrating situation Plz give me suggestion what should i do at this point to get rid of this situation, I will be forever grateful to you.

You can update straight to bios 2004.

Order of installation shouldn't matter, whichever you want to install first, feel free to.

The Intel Management Engine Interface driver is found on the Drivers page with the Chipset driver. It's optional, I personally don't install it.

@Nate152  Ok then I will update the bios as per your suggestion. And there is no problem with the management engine ''driver'' that you said, I have seen it on the website and installed it, but my question is about the management engine ''Firmware'' should I update the management engine Firmware to the new version or not.
Or if I just update the bios to the new version, will the management engine firmware also be updated with the bios update so that I don't have to update the management engine firmware separately, as the new bios update information on the website mentions that the management engine should be updated?

That's my last question this thing is confusing me. I hope you can give me a final solution to this problem.

Thank You 🙂

You'll have to run the ME Update tool as the ME doesn't update with the bios with older motherboards.

So, you can update the bios, run the ME Update tool and install the Intel Management Engine Interface driver.

@Nate152  Well, your final suggestion is to update the motherboard bios to the latest version first, then use the Intel Management Engine Update Tool to update the latest version of the Intel Management Engine. That's it?

@Nate152  Thank you very much for coming up with a final easy solution, I really benefited from your last solution.😊😊😍

You're welcome

Good job getting those installed and updated.

I'll take it everything went smooth and all is well after the bios update.
