My system is very stable with 1703 bios and now I see 1801 is available. My issue is that the notes for 1801 are not helpful, not clear as to what changes were made between 1703 and 1801.
The old rule was, only update if you are having issues, or if there is a clear fix to address stability.
Can anyone tell me what exactly changed with 1801?

Hello @optiman
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the delayed response.
We have confirmed that the update notes for BIOS version 1801 are as: Enhanced system performance, stability and allowed the C1E power state to be disabled.
If your current BIOS version is functioning stably, you may consider remaining on the current version and evaluating the update notes of future BIOS releases to determine whether an update is necessary.
Thank you.

Hello @optiman
BIOS updates are typically implemented to address potential compatibility issues, enhance system stability, or improve performance.
CPU performance is influenced by various factors, including the hardware itself, the cooling environment within the build, the nature of the workload, and whether advanced configurations such as voltage or frequency adjustments have been applied. While BIOS updates may optimize performance in certain scenarios, they might also involve trade-offs in specific application contexts to prioritize stability or compatibility.
If you have specific usage requirements, we recommend evaluating the BIOS update's impact and considering additional BIOS setting adjustments. For example, you could review CPU core settings, power management modes, or other relevant parameters. Testing the system under your typical usage scenarios can help determine whether the performance meets your expectations.
Thank you.

well better late than never I guess. Ok, so why is C1E power state being disabled better? Is that the default after updating the bios, Or it just means we can now disable that if we want to? I mainly want to know if this update reduces performance in any way.
