Hi all,
I have recently purchased 2 ROG STRIX B650-A GAMING WIFI motherboads that have the exact same issue, so i suspect it could be driver related but unable to find a working one
The issues i am having is that using the latest recomended as well as legacy drivers and windows default (windows 11) the rear audi connector will give poor audio quality and crackle at the high ends (very noticable in the audio test) out of the "speakers" output.
The next issue is that if i plug in my headphones in the front pannel connector not only does it play at the expected quality but the rear speakers connection is also playing audio but it no longer crackels and is at the better quality. using realtek audio controller the setting is set to detect when device is plugged in to the front, flicking this switch does nothing.
another issue is that the microphone input is very low and changing the volume between 1-100% or 30% gain makes no change, only mute is working. it is the same for the front input as well as ther rear. the only work around for this is to use voicemeeter to boost the gain but this then picks up all the static etc.
Things that i have tried:
bios and firmware updates to the board and audio
unintalling all asus/realtak drivers and use windows default
driver virsions i have tried : V6396002389_20240821R , V6396002333_20220815R, V6.3.9600.2322,V6396002342_20230113R, V6396002389_20240821R
Edit: the Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) drivers from this post : MoKiChU fixed the Mic (to an extent)

As I mentioned in the drivers thread, I've been fighting more or less the same issue. Links to those threads are below. Hopefully if enough of us raise awareness about it, one day somebody will actually get to the bottom of why this happens and fix it in the drivers.

Hi,
thanks for the support, currently we are on a work around, i.e main speaker coming out of the front pannel and disconecting to use headphone input. its not ideal but the Mic is now controllable, however still low.
i am shocked how bad the support is, i was recomended this and simular boards as i was building this out before buying and didnt think it would be this bad.
