Hi,
==========================
UNSOLVED
============================
I am really struggling and seek help.
My ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-F Wifi worked with my 7800x3d. I used CMH64GX5M2B6000Z30 (VENGEANCE® RGB 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 DRAM 6000MT/s CL30 AMD EXPO & Intel XMP Memory Kit) at 1.4V and it worked nicely.
Then i upgraded to an 9800x3d. The system would not even boot with the memory sticks not even touched at all.
I did in fact boot with one stick in A2 present, but not A2+B2.
Then I checked the compatibility site and found out there is different memory compatibility for ryzen 7000 and 9000. I said, ok lets buy new RAM for ryzen 9000. KF564C32RSK2 i supported which is Kingston Fury Renegade DDR5 XMP 2x32GB 6400MT/s CL32 DIMM at 1.4V.
Same behaviour, It would boot with one stick in A2 present, but not A2+B2.
With 1 stick even accepted 6400 Mhz TIming and EXPO Timings.
After I saw on the compatiblity site the mentioned sockets 1,2 I entered them in A1+A2. And it booted, but only at 3600Mhz and failsafe mode.
So I am here, 2 sets of memory and no clue what to do. Is the memory controller of the 9800x3d broken? Any ideas?
Forgot to mentioned i have BIOS 3208 if that helps.

Hey, funfact: Found out that the dimm slots on the "upper" end do have the "lash" that they used to have on both ends, but on the lower end this board only has a stiff small hat. This was a little loose. I removed it and still the ram stick clicked in as usual. but now everything works. I have no clue if that was the case or just out of a sudden the ram controller trained enough aftr countless hours. Still maybe this helps for someone.

Hey, the real solution could be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ASUSROG/comments/12frque/b650ef_wont_boot_with_two_sticks_of_ram/
Seems this board has some power problems.
k I had this problem with only one ram stick working and I just got it to work A YEAR LATER. So idk in Gaben’s name why but when the graphics card was plugged in it wouldn’t work for the initial boot.
Step 1- turn off pc (fully drain power after unplug)
Step 2 - unplug GPU from slot.
Step 3 - clear cmos
Step 4 - plug in 2nd ram stick
Step 5 - replug in power and start pc (start and restart until no icky debug light)
Step 6 - power off pc again then plug back in gpu.
I pray that it works for you if ya are struggling too.

Edit: Unfortunately this is all no solution. After 3 days of nicely booting after doing the "GPU Removal" trick it again git stuck in RAM Boot. Will talk to support then, this board seems broken.

Hello @Strixer
Thank you for reaching out to us, and sorry for any inconvenience caused by the delayed response.
Based on the information you provided, we found that the memory kit CMH64GX5M2B6000Z30 is indeed not listed on the QVL. Could you please confirm whether the RAM module you tested afterward is the Kingston KF564C32RSK2-64?
According to the QVL, the "Socket Support 1,2” indicates support for installing either one or two DIMMs of this module. For proper installation, please refer to the user manual and ensure the modules are installed in DIMM_A2 and DIMM_B2 slots.
We kindly suggest updating the BIOS to the latest version, 3222, and clearing CMOS before testing the system with default BIOS settings, without enabling EXPO or applying any manual adjustments, to check if the results are any different.
Meanwhile, could you also check whether it is able to boot when the module is installed in DIMM_B2 instead, as well as test the result of reinstalling the 7800X3D along with the KF564C32RSK2-64 ram kit installed in the DIMM_A2 and B2 slots?
If the issue persists, we would greatly appreciate it if you could provide the following for further investigation:
- the images of the BIOS mainpage and all the manually adjusting items
- the brand, model and installation slots or ports of the GPU, SSD/HDD, and PSU
- the OS version and OS build
- a video recording that clearly documents the process of installing the QVL ram in the DIMM_A2 and B2 slots, shows the system’s response after clearing CMOS, captures the behavior of the Q-LED indicator during boot failure, and includes any troubleshooting steps you have attempted.
Thank you.

Hi, thanks for your response.
The story already went on since then 🙂 I saw that this original RAM was not in the comaptibility list. In the meanwhile I upgraded to the 9800x3d and 7800x3d is gone. Therefore another qvl list is in place. I tried KF564C32RSK2-64 which is on the list ( 6400 Speed) and same behaviour. I then tried the F5-6000J3238G32GX2-TZ5N with 6000 speed ( also on the list), same behaviour.
In the meanwhile support told me that this mainboard I bought was already returned once to the vendor without me being noticed and I will ask for replacement to the vendor.
