Hi All,
Here's my current hardware for reference:
ROG B650E-E
AMD 9800x3d
G.Skill Trident 2x16GB 5600MHz CL28
EVGA 3080 TI FTW3 Ultra
Windows 11
I randomly decided to reboot my PC today and I started getting a 9C QCode. I pulled both sticks of RAM and my GPU and one at a time, started adding items back.
I got to the point of reinstalling everything, and started getting a 99 code, but it appeared to post; however, it would not output any video. In doing research, I saw that it was possibly a GPU issue, so I tried plugging my HDMI and DP cables into the onboard graphics.
Success! Onboard graphics worked. I thought I would try swapping the cables back into the GPU.. success! I tried rebooting with everything fully reconnected, but no luck. Code 99 but no display signal.
I randomly tried ONLY the HDMI cable plugged into my GPU and then restarting.. and it worked? In order to restart my PC now, I have to unplug my DP cable and reboot, then plug DP back in once I boot to windows.
I recently installed a driver around 1/30 for my GPU, so I thought this may be my issue. I deleted the driver from device manager, and downloaded/installed the previous driver, but no luck. I still have the same issue.
Does anybody have any insight into this?
TIA

Hello @JL07
Thank you for reaching out to us and for providing a detailed description of your situation, along with the troubleshooting steps you have already attempted.
May I confirm whether you used DDU to uninstall and reinstall the graphics driver? If not, we recommend using DDU for a clean removal and then reinstalling the driver to check if the issue persists. Additionally, please ensure that your VBIOS is updated to the latest version.
We also suggest cross-testing with a different DP cable, PCIe slot, or monitor to rule out potential hardware-related factors, as well as checking if your monitor has any available firmware or driver updates.
If needed, you may also reach out to the GPU manufacturer to verify whether the driver version could be contributing to this issue.
Thank you.
