B650-A Yellow QLED

Avalonzo
Level 8

Hello, I purchased this motherboard 1 month ago for a completely new build and has been great until earlier today computer went into sleep mode an hour later I clicked on left mouse to wake it up but nothing happened then tried using the keyboard to wake it but again nothing. I held the power button until the system shutdown but now it won't boot as soon as the power button is pushed I get an instant solid yellow QLED I have tried removing both ram sticks "Crucial Pro 2x16gb 6000mhz" using only a single stick at a time in both A2 & B2 as the manual says single ram stick use A2 but on ASUS site it says use B2 but still an instant solid yellow light when turning on the power. I've tried clearing CMOS via removing the battery no change then shorting the clrtc pins still no change then remove the battery and shorting the pins as suggested in the manual still no change. I've tried removing my M.2 drive, the gpu, all 3 ssd's and even re-seating the CPU and lastly just waiting in case of memory training but still no change just refuses to boot even without any ram installed.

Thanks for reading and any help,

Christian

Thank you

It doesn't show your memory kit, but it shows the single 16GB stick you posted.

Hello Avalonzo

Try a single stick of memory in the A2 slot.

Your motherboard has the bios flashback feature, you could try updating the bios and see if that fixes things.

Just be aware, once you update to bios version 3263, you can't roll back to earlier versions. You could try updating to the latest bios version 3279 or if you want to be able to roll back to earlier versions, try version 3222.

I have ordered a female usb to male usb-c cable so I can use this tablet to download bios and put it on to a usb stick and as I already mentioned I already tried a single stick of ram in slot A2 unless you mean during the flashback process if so the cable is arriving sometime today.

All you should need is a usb flash drive. If you'd like help updating the bios using the bios flashback feature, just say so and I'll list steps how to do it.

Hello, that would be amazing as flashback is new to me and the cable is arriving soon that'll let transfer bios on to a usb stick as this tablet only has a single usb-c port. The only thing I've been told by a friend was put bios on usb insert into special usb port and press flashback button for 3 seconds but I'm guessing there is more to it than that.

I'll use bios 3222 so you have the option to roll back to earlier bios versions.

1) Grab a usb flash drive preferably with nothing on it and format it to the .FAT32 file system.

2) Follow this video to rename the bios file and put it on your usb flash drive.

Once you have the bios file on your usb flash drive:

1) Shut down your pc and let the power supply switch on.

2) Insert the usb flash drive into the motherboard usb port marked BIOS.

3) Press and hold the bios flashback button until the led starts blinking, then release.

4) The blinking should get faster as it goes and take a few minutes to complete.

5) When the blinking stops, start your pc. On start up, it may continue to update and reboot a couple times, just let it go until it boots into windows.

Hello, I've hit a bump in the road I'm unable to use the renamer.exe I'm using an android tablet and currently no access to any other pc it is possible to rename it manually? If so could you C/P here so I can just C/P the name of the file. If not possible is there a download of the file that's already been renamed.

Yes, you can manually rename the bios file.

1) Download the bios file, after extracting the files, it should show this.

Right click on the bios file, click Show more options, click Rename.

Rename it to SB650A.CAP

Hello, I just tried flaskback following your instructions and the problem persists I'll try again just in case but if not work this time what do I do next?

During the update, does the blinking go for a few minutes then stop? If yes, then it sounds like the update is successful.

If it's still stopping on the yellow Dram led, list your memory part number or a link to it. I'd like to check for compatibility.
