I'm reposting this here from the ROG forum community post for better visibility

(Re: ASUS B550-I STRIX BIOS "2806" UPDATE to fix 4... - Republic of Gamers Forum - 898464)

Could someone please get back to the growing list of users with the issue described in the above thread?

It is a fault with the mainboard and not the GPU. You have to RMA your main board and get a replacement. All that topic ist about the B550-I

I see, thanks! Do you know if they will replace it with the exact same model?

They replaced mine with the same model, different revision.

Alright, thank you!

Prefer maximum performance definitely fixed my issues, but it did bother me that it was always using max speed.
I also have small SFF and can't' just fit any mobo.
Somewhere else I read about shutting off PCIe Native Power Management in the bios fixing some issues.
So I Updated BIOS to ROG-STRIX-B550-I-GAMING-ASUS-3702, Under Advanced Onboard Devices Configuration, Advanced CPU PCIe ASPM Mode Control. Changed from Auto to OFF.
Got rid of Maximum Performance, and now my MHZ as much lower on my GPU.
Been 3 days so far and running fine. I really need it to run 2 weeks 2 be sure.
Anybody else try this?
Will report back.

Thanks for sharing! I would love to hear an update on this after 2 weeks. I might try it myself aswell.

I also turned off Advanced CPU PCIe ASPM Mode Control but unfortunately I'm still encountering the issue. Has it worked for you so far?

So far yes I have not had any crashes. Been only one week though. When I sent my video card back to msi it seemed to work fine for over 2 weeks. This is one of the things that makes it so irritating. I can't just make the crashes happen. So I can't be sure until a couple weeks pass. Did you try Max Performance? That definitely worked for me.

Yes, max performance works but I don't like the fact that it's constantly running at max speed 😞

For me it happens when I go from idle / semi-idle to load.

For me it only happens when typing in notepad or cruising the internet. Very low load. For some reason when it happens for me it seems to happen a bunch of times in a row as well. ie Reboot 3-4 times in one day. Then a week with no reboots. This is why even though it's made it a week for me I can't be sure. Needs to make it another week.
