I'm reposting this here from the ROG forum community post for better visibility

(Re: ASUS B550-I STRIX BIOS "2806" UPDATE to fix 4... - Republic of Gamers Forum - 898464)

Could someone please get back to the growing list of users with the issue described in the above thread?

After PMing Jiaszzz_ROG, and mailing back my B550-I board, the repair centre said they couldn't accomodate a replacement, but they were able to offer a buyback of the board, despite it being out of warranty and purchased from a third party. I did have to pay the diagnostics fee since it was out of warranty.

Looks like they're not offering replacement boards anymore? Anyways, I've now switched to the GIGABYTE B550I AORUS PRO AX and everything is running smoothly.

Maybe it's because you're out of warranty. Or they just doesn't have any more supply

I have the same problem and now it's been 5 months since I first talked to customer service.

We did a RMA once in May but they sent me back my mobo (the motherboard I sent) with the conclusion : 'NTF (no trouble found)' 🤡

I don't know how they test their products, but clearly my motherboard is faulty, I keep having random crashes, and I'm desperate, I thought ASUS was a really serious and trustworthy buisness. Well I guess I'm wrong.

For this reason I didn't send my MOBO, I was afraid something like that would happen to me, especially since the solution of changing the Nvidia panel, power management mode, to prefer maximum performance, worked in my case, they would certainly claim that it doesn't have defect! Have you tried this?

Sorry for my English, it's not my native language.

Experiencing crashes on a B550-I motherboard with Nvidia 4000 series GPUs may be due to BIOS incompatibilities, power delivery issues, or outdated drivers. Ensure your BIOS is up to date, check for GPU driver updates, and consider tweaking power settings. If the issue persists, it might be worth investigating compatibility with your specific hardware configuration.

Nah dude, I litteraly switch every component in my PC praying it's not a Motherboard issue, then I found this thread. BIOS up to date, waiting for a real update, but they may no longer update this old piece of hardware. Tweaking power settings reduces the crash, but is it really a fix...

@Jiaszzz_ROG

Another one to add to the random reboots issue with the B550-i motherboard please. Not sure what would happen with my motherboard as it was purchased pretty soon after release in 2020. This  is paired with an RTX 4060.

Thank you

After about three months since my original post on this thread, I've finally been able to bury this problem, and thought I'd follow up in case anybody's interested.

Fed up with the lack of transparency, I eventually requested a refund rather than going through a potentially frustrating exchange experience. The regional RMA department agreed to this in writing, and so I dropped off the B550-I for return. It took roughly a month between the drop off until I received the refund amount. Note that I was still covered by warranty. I dread to think if I would've arrived at the same conclusion without it.

Prior to returning the motherboard, I bought a Gigabyte B550I Aorus Pro AX to serve as the replacement for my PC. I've encountered absolutely no random crashes with my RTX 4070 Ti Super ever since. In fact, contrary to what some users report about this Gigabyte motherboard, my experience with the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections has been more reliable than the ASUS motherboard, which was very surprising to me.

Good luck to everyone else still fighting ASUS with this problem.

As much as I wanted to blow this situation up (and I did) my initial issue was still under warranty. I wasn't convinced at that time that they would be able to address the issue, so I held off for months. Well after my warranty was over but my previous ticket still open, we came to an agreement, and they sent me a next gen motherboard. As upset as I was with the problem they went above and beyond to resolve it.

Before I go down the frustration rabbit hole any further, has anyone gone directly through Asus UK for this error with a well out of warranty board? I posted on here and the Asus rep advised to go through Asus UK. I pretty much know how it'll go in my mind (not well!) but wondered if anyone has had any success via this route?

Thanks
