I'm reposting this here from the ROG forum community post for better visibility

(Re: ASUS B550-I STRIX BIOS "2806" UPDATE to fix 4... - Republic of Gamers Forum - 898464)

Could someone please get back to the growing list of users with the issue described in the above thread?

It's the same thing they said to me, a new revision of the board that resolves the issue. I did not ship my board yet because I need the computer these days. I will ship mine on january.
Local support has been really good and they attempted to contact me several times when I could not answer the phone to make sure I understood how to proceed.

I will write again when I ship my board and receive the new one next month.

I've same contacts with local Asus, they should replace my board with a new revised version right from Taiwan as they said to me.

Had some delays so I need to wait next week to send my card, and some weeks after to get the new one.

Hi,

I am experiencing the same issues described in this thread. I tried my system with two different 4070 Ti cards, and the same restarts occur on both. Using my 2080 stops the issue from happening.

Can someone help me open a RMA for this please? @Jiaszzz_ROG

I have a fix.

In the motherboard bios, all you need to do is enable resizable bars, it's up the top in the quick access area advanced mode, all you need to do is turn it on then it will work perfectly fine. You do not know how long I've spent trying fix this problem and it was just one setting in bios.

Hopefully it’ll work for someone else but I’ve tried enabling resizable BAR and it does not work for me.

What does your power management setting look like in your Nvidia control panel?

That sucks, my power mode is just on normal. I did have to go into bios a couple times and reenable resizable bars, not sure why, but it just didn't want to stay on. I'm also on the newest bios version. All of my settings in bios are normal excet D.C.O.P being enabled and my ram set to 3600mhz. All of my other setting are default. Best of luck to you any more questions send em through.

Hello @Darren_Gotcha

If you encounter similar issues or have difficulties resolving them, please feel free to PM me at any time, along with relevant information such as the motherboard model and serial number.

Thank you.

After more testing it still crashes on some games, but it makes me force restart my computer. Very annoying hopefully I'll be able to get a new Mother Board

One more faulty strix B550-i here from Finland. With RTX 3080 everything was fine for many years. After updating to RTX 4080 the problems started. Random blackscreens and after that computer restarts. This usually happens while browsing internet. The only thing that helps is the performance mode in Nvidia settings, but its not very ideal to use the GPU at max performance all the time sucking up electricity. I have contacted the store where the motherboard is bought from, but they wont do anything because the warranty has expired. I contacted ASUS and got this answer from the support:

"'I'd like to inform you that ROG Forum ASUS owner can tell you via private message on Forum due to ROG Strix B550-I Gaming have compatibility issues with RTX 40 series graphics cards(crash or black screen)

This is what they say: We have managed to diagnose the issue and have found that a hardware-level fix is required. If your system is affected, please drop me a PM - we’ll look after you. Please bear in mind it may take a fair amount of time for parts required for a alternative hardware solution to arrive in local service centers. In the meantime, the only workaround is to engage "prefer maximum-performance" in the NV drivers (as many of you already know).

Should this solution not meet your expectations or provide the desired results, we're here to assist you further.
If you have any other questions you can also respond to this mail if something is unclear."

Hopefully ASUS will replace or repair my motherboard, because there is a fault with the motherboard design. I don't know what this means: "if your system is affected, please drop me a PM - we’ll look after you".

Who do I have to contact and where?
