Asus Z790-E Strix - PCIe x1 slot

Hi

When I first specced this motherboard, I was sure it listed a PCIe x1 slot (I have a Soundblaster AE-5), however, it does not appear to have any such slot.

Is this correct, and if so, what can I do with my SB card?

You're welcome.

Yes, I'm 100% sure it will work as everything is backward compatible.

You'd connect this part of the sounblaster connector...

Into the front part of the pcie x16 slot.

Hello DM_Violator

You can put your soundblaster card in the 2nd or 3rd pcie x16 slot, these two slots run off the chipset at x4.

Hi

Thanks for replying.  Are you sure? The SB doesn't physically fit in those slots I don't think,  it's a PCIe card.
