I got a blue screen with an " Inaccessible boot drive " error, figured i share this since i finally got the system to boot windows properly. The Bios settings for VMD when activated makes my SSD drives unreadable. it will recognize the drives but will be unable to read windows boot properly. I've turned it off for now but i am aware the "Rapid Storage Tech." utilizes VMD so until a new update is out i constantly have caution tags on other devices.
everything is up to date
Motherboard drives, windows, ssd firmware and bios.
if anyone got any ideas let me know but until then im gonna wait for another bios update to see if it fixes the issue
PC runs fine but having the caution tags bothers me lol

Hello @Agentalien
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Could you kindly refer to the user manual and share the specifications and slot of the SSD currently installed?
According to the specifications of the ROG MAXIMUS Z790 DARK HERO, the storage section indicates support for PCIe RAID 0/1/5/10 and SATA RAID 0/1/5/10. If you are using an NVMe SSD, the scenario you described may occur.
For example, the ROG MAXIMUS Z890 EXTREME specifically notes that the M.2 slot from the CPU only supports RAID 0/1/5.
Meanwhile, you may also refer to [Motherboard] How to create Intel 600 or 700 series MB RAID in BIOS Setup, if needed.
Thank you.

I've already resolved the issue myself, the asus site for drivers and firmware updates located on your site for asus products are poorly labeled for which update is current and all drives and firmware needing to be installed displayed, by which only one download is available for one driver on each application not all that is required.

Hello @Agentalien
Thank you for your response, and we’re glad you were able to pinpoint the problem.
In general, we retain previous versions on the official website to ensure compatibility for certain devices that may require specific drivers or firmware versions. Regarding the labeling and related explanations, I have forwarded your feedback to the relevant department for evaluation and consideration in future website maintenance. We greatly appreciate your valuable suggestions.
Thank you.
