Asus X670E is CRASHING EVERY 10m in every game

Im at my wits end trying to solve this crashing every 10m.

I load a game up and its like someone pressed the restart button on my case. A white line shoots across my screen followed by a black screen on the GPU monitor, and all fans on full.

The Game completely crashes but IMPORTANTLY the onboard GPU witch I use for monitoring keeps working and shows the desktop unfrozen.

The second monitor from onboard video is fine.

I have to reset the system sometimes twice to get the GPU to show the video signal.

This rubbish is unacceptable for an 800 pound motherboard.

These componants were fine in another PC. It is without question a motherboard BIOS issue.

On one occasion the GPU PCIE was turned off completely and was not recognised in the BIOS. I had to re flash the bios with the GPU uninstalled.

Then the PCIE came back on and GPU was recognised. This MUST be sorted out in the next BIOS. Or my 25yr BRAND LOYALTY will be completely eroded. Asus must of lost more than half their customers with this.

Ive been a master PC builder for 25yrs built hundreds of PC's and Ive never had a pc this bad.

AM4,3,2 and 1 were solid.  AM5 is ******!

Master PC builder line tickled me 😂.

If the instability occurs when trying to run anything taxing on the GPU what makes you think it's the motherboard? What could the motherboard be doing that causes this behaviour only when load is placed on the GPU?

Symptoms sound like a power issue to me...Check the 12VHPR and ESP12v / ATX power connectors are fully inserted, as well as the GPU.

Also as a veteran builder you probably already know to disable any overclocking, such as XMP/EXPO.

Hello @purecain

Based on your description, may I confirm if you are currently using both the iGPU and dGPU outputs to connect two monitors, and after approximately 10 minutes of gameplay, the RTX 4090 loses signal while the iGPU and system remain operational? What is your current BIOS version, and are EXPO or any overclocking settings enabled?
Additionally, which PCIe slot is the RTX 4090 installed in, and does the same issue occur when tested in a different slot?

Have you already followed the suggestions shared by other users above, such as checking the GPU power cable connection or cross-testing with alternative power cables or a different PSU?
Please ensure that the RTX 4090 driver and VBIOS are updated to the latest versions available on the official website, and kindly rule out the possibility of system crashes caused by abnormal temperatures during operation. If possible, we also recommend cross-testing with a different GPU to further isolate the issue.

Thank you.
