asus x670 E plus m2 gen5 issue

Izzzo58

Hello, I have an issue with my asus x670E-plus and a crucial T700. when I try to set it in M2.1 (the supposed to be gen5) chrystal disk info tells me it's working in gen1 and SSD benchmark says 800M/s.

I've juste flashed bios to latest version and re-install chipset drivers version 5.11.02.217

I've uninstalled averything about asus driver, armoury crate etc...

nothing changed

When I plug crucial T700 in M2.2 (gen4) it works at correct speed and chrystaldisk info tells it's on gen4

motherboard dealer tells me I'm probably a noob doesn't know how to install a driver 😕

when I install older chipset drivers ver 4... the T700 sometimes works in gen 3, sometimes in gen1.

What can I check or do ?

thanks

(I'm technical since Y2K bug)

Hi @Izzzo58
If no joy, consider contacting Crucial. There have been several teething issues with this drive. I've recently had to RMA one myself after a few months.

Hello, @Izzzo58

May I ask if the situation you described happened after any changes were made? For example, adjusting the BIOS settings or connecting an external device
What is your current BIOS version?
If you haven't updated to the latest BIOS 2412 released on January 30, 2024, please consider updating and clearing CMOS to reconfirm.
Additionally, we suggest you check if the "M.2_1 Link Mode" in BIOS Advanced Mode > Advanced > Onboard Devices Configuration > PCIE Link Speed is set to [GEN 5].

Thank you.

hello, thanks for answering,

1) no specific changes occured before this situation. it's like that from the beginning.

I'm in version 2214 the latest I could find (yesterday) in asus website (from 01/04/2024) I used to be on version 1616 before the upgrade.

2) I've just cheked M2 link mode it was on auto I set it on gen5 but no changes I'm still at 800M/s gen1

thanks

Hello, @Izzzo58

Please refer to the official website of the TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS.

There might be a 24-hour difference in update times for different regions when the BIOS or driver is released.
Please consider updating to the latest version 2412 and clearing CMOS, then check again.

Thank you.
