Asus rog x670e hero shows code "0d" after system restart

Hello everyone,

I've been encountering a recurring issue with my PC recently. Sometimes, after the system has been on for a while and I try to restart it, I get error code "0d" displayed on my motherboard. To resolve this and boot up correctly, I have to perform a hard shutdown, after which the system boots up normally.

This problem started occurring recently, more than a year and a half after I initially built the system. It coincided with upgrades including new Corsair QX fans and switching from an ASUS Strix 3090 to an ASUS TUF 4070 Ti Super GPU.

Here's what I've tried so far to resolve the issue:

- Tested different BIOS versions
- Replaced CPU with Ryzen 9 7900X3D
- Replaced motherboard to the same model  ROG X670E Hero
- Installed a new AIO cooler, Corsair iCUE LINK H150i
- Tested with different RAM kits, Corsair Vengeance 6000MHz 2x16GB

My PC specifications are as follows:

- Motherboard: Asus ROG X670E Hero
- CPU: Previously Ryzen 7 7800X3D, now Ryzen 9 7900X3D
- GPU: ASUS TUF 4070 Ti Super 16GB
- PSU: Corsair RM-1200X SHiFT
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance 5200MHz 2x16GB (32GB total)
- Case: Corsair 5000X RGB
- Fans and CPU Cooler: Corsair iCUE LINK ecosystem
- Storage: 2x Samsung 990 Pro 1TB, 1x Samsung 980 Pro 2TB

Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

after several testing it seems really that armoury crate is to blame

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D | ROG CROSSHAIR X670E EXTREME | PNY RTX 4090 XLR8 | 64GB G.Skill Tridentz RGB 6000 CL30 (F5-6000J3040G32GX2-TZ5N)
AMD Ryzen 5700X | Asus Prime B350 Plus | Sapphire RX570 | 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-2666

In my case, I tried two different CPUs on this Hero board:

- Ryzen 7800X3D
- Ryzen 7900X3D

All CPUs were brand new, and the 0d error occurred with each one. I also tried two ROG Hero X670E boards and used two different RAM kits.

I really wish there were more AM5 boards out there with all the features of the X670E Extreme. MSI's Godlike is $300 more than the Extreme, and it doesn't even have USB4.

Can anyone experiencing this issue please confirm it occurs at Optimised Defaults after clearing the CMOS? This includes no EXPO/XMP overclocking or adjustment to the curve optimiser. Complete defaults. The q-code could well indicate system instability.

I have just reproduced this issue with optimized defaults loaded after a CMOS reset on my X670E Extreme. First attempted restart with optimized defaults was fine. Second attempted restart produced the 0d error. It’s been sitting with this 0d error for about 10 minutes now. The BIOS settings do not affect the frequency of this issue for me, and my computer can pass any benchmark out there once it’s running.

Also please note that I have been able to reproduce this issue after uninstalling Armoury Crate using the Asus Armoury Crate Uninstall Tool. As janky as that app might be, I suspect it’s not the culprit here, or at least it’s not the only culprit. To that end, I don’t feel like the Armoury Crate bug report process is the right channel to be going through regarding this.

My OS defaults to the "Balanced" power profile under normal circumstances but changes to the "High Performance" power profile when games or other power hungry apps are running. It never drops to any lower profile.

For me this issue is intermittent, and when it does happen, I can simply press and hold my front panel power button to power the system off and on, and it usually starts up fine after that, as long as I have memory context restore running.

I appreciate the escalation for this issue. Here's my relevant hardware config:

I had 0d without expo and after resetting CMOS. After removing Armoury, after a week still no problems.

To help escalation, please fill in the bug report form if not having done so already.

I'll try to escalate this for replication and let you know what the team finds.

Hi, thank you for trying to help.

Unfortunately, I no longer have this motherboard since I've sold it. There were too many bugs and instability issues, starting from the buggy Intel i225-V to the Intel Thunderbolt. The main issues were the RAM stability and random boot error codes.

I noticed that the Windows power mode affects the frequency of this error. Economy mode causes it much more often than high performance mode.

@Silent_Scone
Thanks for that information. I wasnt aware of that form.
I just created a forum post and I did send the form.
