Asus rog x670e hero shows code "0d" after system restart

Hello everyone,

I've been encountering a recurring issue with my PC recently. Sometimes, after the system has been on for a while and I try to restart it, I get error code "0d" displayed on my motherboard. To resolve this and boot up correctly, I have to perform a hard shutdown, after which the system boots up normally.

This problem started occurring recently, more than a year and a half after I initially built the system. It coincided with upgrades including new Corsair QX fans and switching from an ASUS Strix 3090 to an ASUS TUF 4070 Ti Super GPU.

Here's what I've tried so far to resolve the issue:

- Tested different BIOS versions
- Replaced CPU with Ryzen 9 7900X3D
- Replaced motherboard to the same model  ROG X670E Hero
- Installed a new AIO cooler, Corsair iCUE LINK H150i
- Tested with different RAM kits, Corsair Vengeance 6000MHz 2x16GB

My PC specifications are as follows:

- Motherboard: Asus ROG X670E Hero
- CPU: Previously Ryzen 7 7800X3D, now Ryzen 9 7900X3D
- GPU: ASUS TUF 4070 Ti Super 16GB
- PSU: Corsair RM-1200X SHiFT
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance 5200MHz 2x16GB (32GB total)
- Case: Corsair 5000X RGB
- Fans and CPU Cooler: Corsair iCUE LINK ecosystem
- Storage: 2x Samsung 990 Pro 1TB, 1x Samsung 980 Pro 2TB

Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Same problem, 0d code only during reboot, otherwise work is stable

I saw a video in which this was connected to a video card power strip. Is your video card connected directly to the power supply?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

my gfx card is connected directly to my psu with stock cable ( psu RMx 1200w)

For my PC setup (see below) and to resolve this issue:

Solution 1: Use "Expo II" DDR5 memory profile.  This issue occurs after installing BIOS version 2007 (or 2124) and selected the "Expo Tweaked" or "Expo I" memory profile.

Solution 2: If "Expo Tweaked" or "Expo I" memory profile is selected, set "Memory Context Restore" option to "Auto"  (disabled) and "Power Down Enable" to "Auto" (disabled).

My PC setup:
- ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR X670E Hero, BIOS 2124
- AMD Ryzen 7950X (default PBO settings, "Expo II" memory profile, "UCLK DIV1 MODE": "UCLK = MEMCLK", "Memory Context Restore" = Enabled, "Power Down Enable" = Enabled),
- G.SKILL DDR5 6000 64GB (2x32GB) EXPO (F5-6000J3238G32GX2-TZ5NR, ASUS QVL)
- ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 4090 OC

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I don't quite understand what exactly is the solution.

Also I don't understand why i need to be dealing with such problems in such a high end motherboard.
I've already tried two brand new x670e hero boards and two cpus

Hi @moe_lvr_666

0D is a memory training code, your memory overclock is likely unstable. Disable EXPO and confirm whether the behaviour persists before we continue to troubleshoot further.

13900KS / 8000 CAS36 / ROG APEX Z790 / ROG TUF RTX 4090

Thank you for your response.

Firstly, I understand that the error code "0d" may be related to memory. I can confirm that I did not encounter this error when using the system without an XMP profile selected. However, I have tested two different RAM kits from Corsair, both of which are EXPO Certified and listed on the QVL (Qualified Vendor List) of the Asus ROG X670E Hero motherboard:

1. Corsair DDR5 5200MHz 2x16GB
2. DDR5 6000MHz 2x16GB (CMH32GX5M2B6000Z30K)

Additionally, I have tested two different CPUs:
1. Ryzen 7 7800X3D
2. Ryzen 9 7900X3D

Furthermore, I received a replacement motherboard from the retailer, both of which were Asus ROG X670E Hero models.

Based on my testing, I can confirm that the issue is not related to the RAM or the CPU. It is frustrating to experience memory-related issues with such a high-end motherboard like the ROG X670E HERO. I am uncertain whether this issue stems from the BIOS or the hardware of the motherboard itself. I have tried three different BIOS versions: 1709, 1905, and 2007.

With a motherboard of this caliber and the latest BIOS versions installed, I expect a seamless experience, especially considering that both RAM kits are listed as tested on the QVL.

I've got a Crosshair Extreme and I'm having the same issues! I've stress-tested cpu, mem, gpu, and verified Windows 11..all good. Has to be BIOS related!

I have got the exact same problem and also have the CMH32GX5M2B6000Z30K kit and 7800x3d, it is superweird, furthermore on first boot after i get the error it will not se the slot4 stick, i got the problem after updating to the 1905 bios
