Hello everyone,
I've been encountering a recurring issue with my PC recently. Sometimes, after the system has been on for a while and I try to restart it, I get error code "0d" displayed on my motherboard. To resolve this and boot up correctly, I have to perform a hard shutdown, after which the system boots up normally.
This problem started occurring recently, more than a year and a half after I initially built the system. It coincided with upgrades including new Corsair QX fans and switching from an ASUS Strix 3090 to an ASUS TUF 4070 Ti Super GPU.
Here's what I've tried so far to resolve the issue:
- Tested different BIOS versions
- Replaced CPU with Ryzen 9 7900X3D
- Replaced motherboard to the same model ROG X670E Hero
- Installed a new AIO cooler, Corsair iCUE LINK H150i
- Tested with different RAM kits, Corsair Vengeance 6000MHz 2x16GB
My PC specifications are as follows:
- Motherboard: Asus ROG X670E Hero
- CPU: Previously Ryzen 7 7800X3D, now Ryzen 9 7900X3D
- GPU: ASUS TUF 4070 Ti Super 16GB
- PSU: Corsair RM-1200X SHiFT
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance 5200MHz 2x16GB (32GB total)
- Case: Corsair 5000X RGB
- Fans and CPU Cooler: Corsair iCUE LINK ecosystem
- Storage: 2x Samsung 990 Pro 1TB, 1x Samsung 980 Pro 2TB
Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Hello to all !!!
I´ been experiencing this same problem from few weeks ago.
Intermitent Q-Code od, 1A, no postings from restarts, sometimes Windows 11 was frozen for a few seconds....
No matter what I did, reseating ram, cpu, checking cpu pins and socket pins....
Tested different ram modules, all of them showing the same problem. No matter what I set in bios, as soon as I enabled EXPO, DOCP or Memory Content Restore, the problem was back again
No obvious problem or fisical damage.
Tried a lor of bioses, newers, olders, no go... Multiple CMOS resets, turn on and off power supply and replaced CMOS battery on motherboard for a new one. Nothing worked...
Searching on internet forums, here on this site, lot of people with this strange behavior, but nothing fixed my problem.
Finally a got it solved. This worked for me, but I don´t know what is the root cause of this and if it will work for you.
Yesterday, I finnally tried to reinstall Windows 11 from scratch.
Once Windows 11 was installed and working, installed all most uo to date drivers for the system.
At this point, all was working fine. BIOS always on default settings.
As soon as I installed Armoury Crate, problems came back.
Failed restarts, od code, 1A and others.
Now I have my PC running fine, without problems and all seems to work as it should.
I installed all my other software on windows 11, except for Armoury Crate.
And everything y running fine and smooth. Pc always restarts, with EXPO enabled, disabled, all OK.
Each time I start PC, or restart, no bad POST and error codes.
For you guys I recommend you give a try...
My PC specs. are:
Motherboard: Asus Rog Crosshair Hero X670-E
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
GPU: Asus Rog Strix RTX 4080 OC
Water Block: AIO Aus Rog Ryujin lll 360mm.
Ram memory: 64GB (2x32GB) Corsair Vengeance 6400 Mhz. CL32
Power Supply: Be Quiet Drak Power 13 1000W Titanium Certified
Case Fans: 9x Lian Li Unifans TL 120mm. 3x on the Ruyjin radiator, 3x on bottom case and 3x on top of the case
Hope this helps to anybody to fix this problem or to Asus to track the root of the problem.
Cheeerrss !!

Are you suggesting this issue is related to software?
It seems unusual and improbable that software could affect hardware functionality or BIOS operations.
What are your thoughts on this?
It's worth noting that many others, both on this forum and beyond, have reported experiencing similar issues with the X670e Hero motherboard model.

Hello !!
I don´t know if it´s software related or not, I´m not a computer expert.
What I explained has been my experience with this problem and share it with all of you.
I don´t know how many people has Armoury Crate installed in their systems, or their configurations.
It seems weird to me, too, but it was my only way to solve the problem.
I built this system from day 1 of Ryzen 7000 and X670E boards launch, and was rock solid for all this time.
Minor problems that we all find in every day use.
A few weeks ago, I started experiencing this POST fails with Q-Code 0d randomly.
Sometimes PC booted and restarted OK and sometimes not. Problem that I never had before.
Started looking at Bios settings, restoring defaults, looking for newer versions on Asus Rog website, etc, etc
Everything looked fine on BIOS level, but, like I said, I´m not an expert at all.
I always don´t touch much things in BIOS because I don´t practically anything on advanced tweaking on Bios for overclocking and all this kind of stuff.
I set basics parameters, enable expo, boot configuration, disable iGPU, this kind of things.
If I don´t know what I´m selecting in Bios, I prefer let it at defaults.
Pushing clocks, voltages or frecuencies beyond where I don´t know it´s not for me.
After that, my problem was getting worst with the past of the days.
Fail to POST more frecuently, forcing me to shut down computer with the power button because most of the times, pressing the reset button didn´t work. Pc was stuck in 0d code again.
Then I tried to enable EXPO on ram, but if I set "Power Down" and "Memory Content Restore" to Enabled, things get worst. Only after disabling them, things begin to look better.
But it sometimes fail again to POST with them disabled and other error codes begin to appear.
Sometimes 1A, other 00 and more that I don´t remember but I started to be worried.
Checked CPU pins, socket pins, (nothimg strange that I coul see), no bent pins....
Reseated CPU, ram modules, checked any loose or bad connected cable on the case or motherboard.
Found nothing out of order.
Then, looking in this forums and a lot more, on Google to see if this was a common problem.
And I saw there were lot of people with this kind of problem, but no real or definitive fix for them.
I was trying all I could read on forums to try to fix the problem, but to no avail.
People replaced motherboards, ram modules for other brands, you can see a lot of suggestions but they didn´t work on my case.
Changing values on Bioses, reflashing old versions with bios flashback, but nothing fixed my problem.
I was starting to think that my CPU or motherboard are failing and sent back them to the store for replacement under warranty. I live in Europe and we have 3 years of warranty.
But two days ago, I saw a post in a forum that I don´t remember now after looking all this days on google for a fix.
The guy sugested to disable armoury crate, and that´s what I did.
I thought it was worth a try before begin to taking apart Motherboard or CPU, to call for a replacement.
And here I am. Now my system is working perfect again, but with Armoury Crate disabled on BIOS and unnistalled in windows 11.
I spent half of the day, restarting the PC, shutting down, cold boots, restarting again and has not failed to POST again.
EXPO enabled, Power Down and Memory Context Restore enabled, basic settings for me as always and all looks fine.
Now on EXPO enabled and Memory Context Restore enabled, boot times are blazing fast, really, really fast.
I´m very surprised that this is that fast. As I say, don´t know what is the root cause of the problem.
Don´t know if this is posible or not, hardware or software related, no idea, sincerely.
I just wanted to share my experience in this problem, just that if it works for someone else.

Javi, thank you so much for your efforts in helping the community! I'm facing the exact same problem you experienced. My system has been running smoothly for nearly two years until this issue with error code '0d' started appearing. It's quite strange, but it seems possible that it's related to software.

Same problem with me, all within the last few days, works well for a while after a hard reboot but I notice this again every time I come home from work. I haven't touched any setttings, otherwise has been running great for a year. My gut tells me its a software issue but I'm not tech-savvy enough to find the culprit. Hopefully ASUS can find the bug and correct it soon because it is pretty annoying.

I was having the same issue. At first my computer would not wake from sleep. Then would not boot. 0d error as the rest. I found if I removed a stick or 2, the computer would boot once. Eventually I found this article. I pulled all sticks but A2 and got into the BIOS. I turned off Armory Crate, and booted my computer. I used Revo to remove Armory crate, and had to use task manager to stop a few so Revo can finish the uninstall. Turned the unit off, put all 128GB back in. No issue booting.

I didn't even no you could "turn off" Armory Crate in the BIOS..

Uninstalling Armoury Crate solved my 0d soft reboot hanging issues as well. While I'm a big fan of Revo I think its probably better to use the official uninstall tool cause crate has some deep hooks:

Really interessting..
I faced that issue on the Crosshair X670E Extreme and thought I fixed it.
Now I have read that it could be related to the lovely bloatware Armoury Crate.
I just downloaded the uninstaller and uninstalled it. The uninstaller requested me to reboot and I directly had the 0d error.
So this cant be coincidence that I did something with AC (even if it is just uninstalling it) and I directly get that error again.
I was so close to throw that board away and buy something from another vendor... so lets see if the uninstall fixed it
