Asus rog strix z790-F gaming wifi ii stuttering, hitching every game

Hy i recently purchased this motherboard and my specs are:

Cpu 14700k

Ram g skill 32 gb 6400 mhz (listed in qvl memory)

Gpu 4070 super

Psu Seasonic 850w fx focus 90% gold

So the problem is that i have random stuttering or hitching in every game and i don't know what to do anymore.

I did memtest, occt, aida64, cinebench 23, cinebench15 and i have no crashes, no problem here but in gaming i have random hitching like for a second, is a big frametime spike.

The problem is that on my older system where i had the gpu installed i did not had this issue.

I tried to run the games without msi afterburner, without nvidia overlay but i still feel the stuttering or the hitching.

For example in flight simulator 2024 at the begining when i start to take off with the flight and the stuttering is starting my audio is interupted and it goes on again, just in this game i have audio problems and the stuttering is in every game that i tested.

My bios is updated to the latest.

Hello @Shakecip

Thank you for reaching out to us.
Based on your description, does the random stuttering or frame drop spikes only occur during gaming, while other usage scenarios remain unaffected?
When the issue arises, does it coincide with a drop in internet speed? If so, we recommend checking your network status, cross-testing between Wi-Fi and LAN, or verifying whether your router requires any driver updates.
Could you also provide the part number of the memory currently installed (e.g., F5-6400J3239F48GX2-TZ5RS, 2x 48GB), the slots in which they are installed, and whether any overclocking settings, such as XMP, are enabled? If you install a single memory module in the DIMM_A2 slot and clear CMOS, does this improve the stuttering during gameplay?

Additionally, regarding potential issues related to Intel CPUs, we recommend reviewing the July 2024 Update on Instability Reports on Intel Core 13th and 14th Gen Desktop Processors and considering cross-testing with a different CPU to isolate any potential hardware problems.

Thank you.

My ram is G.SKILL, 32GB, 6400MHz (2x16GB), Cod: F5-6400J3239G16GX2-TZ5RK, i only play single player games an the memory is set in A2 B2, I tried without xmp and the problem still persist and yes the stuttering only happens in games, in windows or other applications i have no problem.

Could be a cpu problem?

Try disabling IA CEP & Undervoltage.

I tried that, still the problem persist.

Hello @Shakecip

Based on your description, to rule out potential hardware issues, we recommend checking whether the CPU socket has bent pins or if the CPU is either too loosely or too tightly installed. If possible, we also suggest cross-testing with a different CPU to see if the behavior changes.

Thank you.

So i removed the cpu and inspected for bent pins, i see that everything is ok, i installed the cpu again but not to tightly as you said. The stuttering is still there and after 30 minutes my pc crashed and my usb ports vere disconected, it never happened before, i needed to hard reset for pc to work again and then i removed again the cpu to inspect if is any bent pins and and everything is ok, i installed the cpu again but this time not so loosed as before, a little tighter and now my computer runs ok no more crashes but the stuttering is still there. So my take is that the cpu was seated ant installed corect before but the stuttering is still theere sadly.

Now i have hard freeze when playing games, i need to reset the pc to work again, I did memtest x86 a day and a night and no errors on my memory. The hardfreeze happened just twice in a month. Could be the cpu or the motherboard? in event viewer i see Wheea Logger: A fatal hardware error has occurred. A record describing the condition is contained in the data section of this event.

Did you run Memtest with XMP off and one stick at a time & for how long?

Have you tried another spare CPU on same motherboard?

It feels like 3 things can be an issue here:

1.) Storage drive

2 CPU degradation (13th and 14th gen had this issue before last bios update)

3.) PSU issue (hardly unlikely)

I say test another CPU like buy or borrow some cheap 12th gen i think like 12400H is cheapest and nice cpu and see if issue presist. Did you try to play games on Onboard  GPU by removing your Nvidia GPU to see if GPU is not getting faulty? also test if wires are not lose on anything. Clean install your GPU drivers and reinstall other drivers like chipset, i would suggest get a technician if you are not computer expert to test your pc.
