asus rog strix z790-E slow internet speed

Thepachi
Level 7

Hello everyone, i have spend the better part of 6-8 months trying to figure out what is wrong with my PC. Gave up on it several times and just dealt with it. I have 2 Gig internet speed at home, fiber. ISP claims my device does not support 2 gigs. i have had my ISP on site close to 7 times now and they state that they are getting 2 gigs from the router and their hardware. I browsed several different reddit threads with fixes to change your iv226 and etc. settings, i tried replacing the ISP provided router (Eero) with a TP Link AX5400 pro mesh, added 2.5gb ethernet card to a PCIe slot. Also bought and connected a TP Link ethernet switch. i cannot get my upload speeds to go over 600, im supposed to get 2 gigs up 2 gigs down

Hello @Thepachi

Thank you for reaching out to us and sorry for the delayed respond.
Based on your description, it seems you've already contacted your ISP multiple times and confirmed that your router is capable of achieving 2 Gbps internet speed.
However, when your motherboard is connected via Ethernet, the upload speed cannot exceed 600Mbps, while the download speed appears normal, as seen in the screenshot.
The latest LAN driver version on the ROG STRIX Z790-E GAMING WIFI Support page> Driver & Utility is 1.1.4.38.

We recommend installing this version, rebooting your system before checking again, and please also ensure that the BIOS version, OS version, and router firmware are all updated to the latest versions.
If needed, please also refer to the instructions in [Windows 11/10] Troubleshooting - Computer Wired Network (Ethernet) Issues to help resolve the problem.

Thank you.
