Asus ROG Strix X670E-A AMD Expo issues 1709

RSN

I've built a brand new PC, bios is up to date, however whenever I try to play the system freezes/reboot

I've tried tons of deferent stuff to get the memory stable, nothing that is done seems to work.

For example:

1st - AMD EXPO I profile set to 6ghz ( or even lowering memo speed down to 4.2Ghz)

2nd - AMD EXPO default profile which sets memory speed down to 4.8Ghz

3rd - with or without AMD chipset drivers

Can someone please help? I've always used Asus products but it feels like this time it's missing a lot.

Mobo: Asus ROG Strix X670E-A

Memo: G.Skill Trident Z5 DDR5-6000 CL30 AMD EXPO (CL 30-38-38-96)

Thanks

Hello, @RSN

Could you please clarify whether you experience system freezes or reboots only when EXPO I or II is enabled and not under the default BIOS settings
Is there a specific reason you believe the issue is related to memory?
Could you provide the complete part number of the memory you are currently using and specify which two slots it is installed in?
We recommend using memory from the motherboard's QVL and installing it in the A_2 and B_2 slots, as suggested in the user manual.

Please refer to the instructions in [Motherboard] How to query (CPU/memory) QVL List? and check the "purchasing and installation guide" under the "Memory" section on the official support page for the ROG STRIX X670E-A GAMING WIFI if needed.
For troubleshooting, we suggest initially installing a single memory module in the A2 slot and gradually adding the second memory module.

Thank you.

It freezes no matter if it's set to EXPO I or II or default BIOS(All set to AUTO with memory speed at 4.8ghz)

Memory is installed on A2 and B2 slots

I will remove one of the memory modules and try that again.

Thanks

Hello, @RSN

We recommend that you test with default settings in BIOS, meaning that after clearing the CMOS, refrain from configuring the memory EXPO settings.
If the issue persists despite following the aforementioned advice, please provide the following information to help us better understand your problem:
- names and durations of games where this issue frequently occurs, the circumstances, and the frequency of the problem
Please provide a complete recording of the issue
- the part number of the DRAM
- the brand and model name of the CPU, GPU, SSD/HDD, and PSU
- are there any extensions or adapters used to connect any devices, such as GPU or SSD?
- the OS version and OS build
If you have results from other software tests, such as CPU-Z, HWiNFO, or AIDA64, please include relevant screenshots and test results.

Thank you.
