ASUS ROG Strix B360-F Fails to Boot After Changing BIOS Secure Boot to Windows UEFI Mode

Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with my ASUS ROG Strix B360-F motherboard. After changing the BIOS settings to enable Secure Boot in Windows UEFI mode, my PC fails to boot. It enters a boot loop and restarts every 10 seconds, and I can’t even access the BIOS anymore.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • I attempted to reset the CMOS by both removing the battery and shorting the pins as per the manual.
  • I’ve also downloaded the latest BIOS firmware in hopes it would trigger the CrashFree recovery mode, but it didn’t help.
  • I tried booting with Windows recovery on a USB, but the system still won’t recover.
  • I’ve disconnected and reconnected various components, including:
    • GPU (also tried swapping PCI slots)
    • RAM (and also swapped RAM slots)
    • Hard drives

Despite these efforts, the issue persists. The system keeps restarting in a boot loop, and I still can’t access the BIOS.

I would really appreciate any suggestions on how to fix this. Has anyone encountered this problem before or have tips on how to recover from this situation?

Hello @rutis

Thank you for reaching out to us.
Based on your description, the issue of being stuck in a boot loop and unable to start began after enabling Secure Boot. Even after clearing CMOS, updating the BIOS, or cross-testing the slots, you are still unable to boot successfully due to the boot loop.
May I ask if only the CPU (with integrated graphics for video output if supported), CPU fan, a single RAM module in the DIMM_A2 slot, and the PSU are installed and clear CMOS, are you able to successfully boot? If not, do any Q-LED indicators light up?

Thank you.
