ASUS ROG B760-F Sound is incomparable with the Sound on my old PC with ASUS Maximus Hero VI

Hi,

I've just recently bought myself a new pc with a Asus ROG B760 - F mainboard

And since I've built my new pc I haven't had an issue with the performance but and that's a very big but The Sound comparing it to my old PC with an Asus Maximus Hero VI is just terrible there is no proper bass, there are no settings for a proper equalizer as I had with my old PC. I've installed all the audio drivers which ASUS provided on their website but I'm desperately trying to fix this without getting an external audio card with better performance.

As you can see from the screenshots I've provided, there are a lot more settings for sound quality etc than there is on my recently bought ASUS main board. The last screenshot which shows the new system shows how choped up to basic functions it is comparing it to the old system.

So my question would be if someone can help me to get my actual system to have these settings without having to buy another sound card for over 100 bucks. Although it was advertised on a lot of websites that this mainboard especially had such a good sound, maybe it was meant for gaming but I would like to have a good quality for watching movies, listening to music etc.

Hello, @SyNDiKaTa

Thank you for reaching out to us and providing the interface comparison images.
Different motherboards, sound card models, and driver versions may have differences in features and software interfaces.
May I inquire about your current BIOS version?
If it has not been updated to the latest version 1604 released on December 28, 2023, we recommend updating it and clearing CMOS for further confirmation.
Are you using speakers or headsets? Have you cross-tested different ports or audio output methods?
Please also refer to [Windows 11/10] Troubleshooting - Sound (Speakers/Microphones) problems.

Thank you.

Thanks for the quick response.

I am using Logitech Z4 Speakers which are connected to the green audio slot on the back.

I've read on google that there is a difference between High Definition Audio and Realtek USB Audio.

I have deinstalled the audio drivers and reinstalled those drivers i got on the website.

I did a troubleshoot on the Audio and it shows that i am using Windows Standard Drivers which i dont know exactly if it is the reason for not having any additional option to the sound. And dont get me wrong this mainboard i think is great and all but not having any additional settings like my old pc from 2013 had or even the one before from 2004 with a no name brand mainboard had, i kind of wonder if i really got what was advertised.

I found out that the audio chip on the MB is an ALC4080, which is appearently known to have issues with the audio.

I updated the bios to 1602 when i build the PC in Mid December 2023 and i dont think that the bios update would make an impact on my issue.

Can someone explain to me why there is an SuperSonic Option for my Logitech G432 Headset but not the Speakers which run ALC8040 Chip ?

But why does Asus advertise a perfect audio experience when Sonic Studio III or/and SupremeFX does not even work on the ALC8040 Chip

Hello, @SyNDiKaTa

Thank you for providing the relevant information.
Regarding the part of the "SSIII," after consulting with the relevant department, clicking on "SSIII" allows access to advanced audio settings.
Additionally, this is related to the port where you connect audio out put device.
May I ask which port your Logitech G432 Headset is currently connected to?
If you have switched between the ports for the speaker and headset, have you noticed any differences?
Regarding the differences in audio software functionality, if you click on "SSIII" to access advanced settings, can you achieve further customization of the audio settings?

Thank you.

I have managed to get Sonic Studio 3 to work after reinstalling it a couple of times.

I understand that the SS Button next to my Headset was just an option to have also for the Logitech Headset.

So i have concluded my Inquiry thanks for the support so far.
