ASUS Prime Z390-A, LED problem

Ousellone

Hello everyone,

I got an ASUS Prime Z390-A motherboard with Intel i5 9700kf.
The onboard LEDs always worked as a charm with AURA sync.

Suddendly, the onboard LEDs decided to stay off.
I have some Fans RGBs connected via the RGB_HEADER1 that somehow still work.
When starting the PC the LEDs are white and slowly fade to green.
On Armoury Crate, the MB does not get detected anymore.

I tried everything, uninstalling with Revo Armoury Crate, AURA service and so on and reinstalling.
I tried to install standalone AURA but it says 'AURA sync service is not currently available' or it directly crash when opening up.
I also updates the BIOS several times and also did a CMOS reset.
Power cycled several times with every combination possible.

I noticed that in the BIOS the 'LED EC1 version' is empty, is it normal?
Is there a way to re-flash the LED firmware?

In ASUS CPU-Z, in the motherboard section, it does not even let me see the chipset version etc.
In Windows Device Manager, the MB is detected as 'Asus System Product Name'
Obviously, I tried to reinstall every chipset driver that is present on the ASUS website, but no success in addressing the issue.

I also tried to completely disassembly my MB to find the LED connector behind the white 'PRIME Z-Series' plastic cover to see if there was any wiring problem or damage to the LED board, but everything seems to be alright.

I'm getting insane with this. Can someone help me? I would deeply appreciate any feedback.
Thank you!

Hello @Ousellone

Thank you for reaching out to us.
Regarding the RGB lighting issue, you mentioned that the RGB effects were functioning correctly initially. Could you clarify what changes, if any, in hardware or software preceded the issue, such as was it after a BIOS or Windows update or the addition of new RGB fans?
For the incomplete CPU-Z information, may I ask where you downloaded CPU-Z from, and would there be any differences after updating it to the latest version or by cross-testing with other third-party software?
To assist us in investigating further, could you kindly provide the following information:
- images of the BIOS main page, which should include the LED EC1/EC2 Version information
- the brand and model of the currently installed CPU, DRAM, GPU, and PSU
- the OS version and OS build
We also recommend considering Reset the system and keep your file and then reinstall Armoury Crate to verify if this resolves the issue.

Thank you.

Due to the local holidays, my responses may be slightly delayed.
For any urgent cases, we recommend reaching out to your local service center for further assistance. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
