So, I have an Asus Prime X670E-Pro WiFi (AMD X670E) motherboard on my gaming desktop. For about a week now, I haven’t been able to shut down my PC normally, I can only put it to sleep. This started all of a sudden; I didn’t make any changes to my PC. I didn’t try to update the BIOS or anything like that, but suddenly it wouldn’t start. The power button on my case stopped working.
The only way I can start my PC is either by pressing the BIOS Flashback button a few times in different directions and holding it for a few seconds — sometimes that seems to reset it and then the PC starts normally, or by switching off the power supply, then immediately turning it back on and pressing the power and start-up buttons at the same time.
I also saw that someone actually desoldered the Flashback button, and that seemed to fix the issue for them. However, I’m not doing that since my motherboard is still under warranty.
Has anyone experienced the same problem? Is there a solution to this? I really don’t want to do an RMA, because that would mean being without a PC for a loooong time, but for a €500 motherboard, I’ll do it if it’s really necessary.

X670e Hero. Exact same pattern. Unable to put to sleep properly or wake up from it out of nowhere from past 1 month.
Since yesterday, the MB is not turning on. The cmos light/start/flex key lights are blinking (one long and one short duration) and not turning at all. Removed everything connected and just PSU and MB, still same issue just like OP.

Hi @Drionoko1
Sounds like the USB Flashback button has become faulty which is stopping the system from being able to start up correctly. I've moved this thread to ROG Care for the attention of service; however, you might want to contact the service for your region.

So, Should I wait for the service to contact me? My service in my region is hundreds of mile away......I'm not a PC guy, really, how whould this work?

Service do monitor this sub section, however you should contact service for your region for the quickest response.
Simply type in ASUS Service [your country] into google and the URL should be at the top of search engine results.

Hi everyone. Sorry for my English. I solved this problem last night. Since my motherboard is also under warranty, I can't use a soldering iron to avoid losing the warranty. I flipped the motherboard over and applied 3 volts from two AA batteries. The positive terminal is connected to the Flashback button pin, and the negative terminal is connected to the processor reinforcement frame—it's precisely connected to the motherboard's ground contact. I connected the batteries with a wire for 30 seconds, then simply installed the motherboard in the case and reassembled everything. Now everything works as before. There are no signs of my repairs and no loss of warranty.

Let me clarify that one battery wasn't enough. Also, note that the button has two contacts, and the positive battery contact must be connected to the contact that isn't connected to the ground contact on the motherboard. Otherwise, the batteries will discharge, and there will be no effect.
