Hello,
I own an asus maximus XII and have had it for 4 years, I also have an i910850k, 64gb ddr4 memory, 1000w power supply and running on a 3080ti. My system has not had any issues in the last 4 years, I had two MSI monitors hooked up to it, one 31.5” and the other 27” with same exact specs of 1440p 144hz and never experienced any issue, always reliable and ran perfectly fine , until ! —— the issues is that now I have upgraded to Samsung Odyssey ark 55”, and right out of the box I had this striking issue where when connecting the new monitor to DP on the 3080ti the system won’t boot I get a F6 code popping up . As soon as I unplug the DP cable and restart it , it will run no problem, it’s just when I have it plugged in I run into this issue…
Was just curious what any of you may think is the issue, I’m still within my buyers remorse period so if it is the monitor I can return it, I just really don’t feel like taking it apart and putting it back in the box as it does weight like 100+ lbs …
I have tried multiple display cables, I have also a battery backup for my pc and the monitor is connected separately to an outlet. Do I have to maybe update the bios, ? I just want to understand how connecting a display port cable to a Graphics Card can cause this issue … I noticed that I can also unplug the power from the display leaving just the DP hooked up and still the same issue .. please any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Hello @DeViLeSeYe
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Based on your description, does the display function correctly if you cold boot the system without connecting the monitor via DP and instead connect it after the system has powered on?
If you have not yet updated to the latest BIOS version 3001, released on June 7, 2024, we recommend performing the update and clearing CMOS before checking again.
In addition to ensuring that all hardware is correctly installed, please verify whether your monitor requires any firmware updates and consider cross-testing with other signal sources to isolate potential hardware issues.
We also suggest cross-testing the following scenarios to determine if the no-display issue persists under different conditions, if needed:
- Switching from DP to HDMI for the monitor connection.
- Using the i9-10850K’s integrated graphics to output video instead of the discrete GPU.
- Testing the RTX 3080 Ti in different PCIe slots.
Thank you.
